MFT3 For the Finish Carpenter

Per,

How about a temporary spacer block that would take the kerf into consideration and end up with a 1" offset or a metric offset that is easy to figure into the calculations.  Set it up, slide the panel into position, remove and cut.  no kickback.  for all you jig makers out there, how about one that slips over the fence with little grap handles.  just a thought.

Peter,

A extra flip stop would work also.

Ya know, use two.

But lets not over think this,

Go back and read that post and remove all the disclaimers. ;)

Getting back to the KISS principal,

just push the saw with your left hand and hold down the work with your right hand.

I thought that in comparison to vacuum clamps it was simpler.  I guess because I don't have one yet I am ignorant as to all the possibilities the MFT tables, but based on Per's review I can envision it's usefullness in my totally mobile situation and it has moved up to the top of my wish list.

Thank you for all that you guys do for FOG.

by the way,

One "off topic" advantage to the MFT/1080 height is using them as an extention to your dining room table

at holiday or graduation events (yesterday)

It sets up to just a little higher than the dining set.

(of course, it's a good idea to wrap the top with plastic before you put the tablecloth on,

in the event someone knocks over the Merlot)  :D

Per.....

another question......

When you have a folded up  MFT/1080 next to a folded up MFT/3,

laying flat on the floor, next to each other.....

Do they match up?

(I'm aware that the dimensions differ....I'm only inquiring about the folded-up height relationship)

Roger

Hey Per, great review!

Is this new MFT shorter when folded than the old? That is, are the corner brackets shorter?

Michael,

Yep,

It is shorter by a little over a inch.

Fellas, I say a little because, well, I don't have a metric ruler handy Roll Eyes

  Hi folks,

Took the Mft to a mini kitchen 4 extra cabinet install today.

You know a afterthought. The extra cabinets that is.

No screwing them to the wall here. Nah this was build me a island out of this,

And hold these two cabinets 2" away and 2" up from this one.

Mind you these are store bought cabs.

Did it all with the MFT3 and TS 55.

In the finished Kitchen(With Dish's in the sink ::))

Dustless in 4.5 hours. Hunter never moaned once as he would with the chopsaws

in setup. (Lugging division)
