Wow.
I bought these on a lark and I'm very impressed.
I recently veneered two speakers for a friend.
20"x20" cubes.

I only used one pad for sanding between six coats.  That's 140 sq feet and the pad is still going strong.
Almost no clogging and comes clean with a blast of air.  They are 4 1/2" x 9"

Box of 25 is $1 a pad.  I paid twice that for 3M foam pads (4 1/2" x 5 1/2") and they clog in 60 seconds and last a third as long.

They're like a brillo pad.
They are not the Mirka mesh.
They have what I'll call "grit equivalents"  The red one in the picture is 360g.

Mirlon Total is mainly developed for mattening of hard-to-reach areas, such as corners and profiles, prior to painting. It is also used when feathering out, removing overspray in a blending zone and for spot repairs. In the wood sector Mirlon Total is also excellent for intermediate sanding

I used the pad with a felt block for the flat surface.  I realize a hard sand on a hard block is the correct way to avoid dishing.  That said,  it worked amazingly well.
It's aggressive stuff.

It also cones in an assortment pack for about $6.
Festool Granat....   I love it and I have a few boxes.

Good to know.  If I see them at my retailer I will be sure to try them.

I've gotten great feedback on the Vlies soft-sheet abrasives. Work well over lacquers without leaving the residue behind that steel wool does. Ideal for mouldings or other applications where you have contours and sharp corners. Check out the numerous Hand Sanding options many of which are not in the print catalog.
