Mobile base or stand for KAPEX?

Looking to build a mobile cart-type stand for my KAPEX.  I have a small 1-car garage shop.  A fold-up job site type stand is not practical, so I'm thinking a cart with casters and some type of workpiece extensions on one or both sides for pieces that are 8-12 feet long.

Anybody build something like this using the Sawhelper or Festool extensions?  I know I could build some out of wood, but the aluminum ones are pretty slick-looking (albeit pricey).
