New side table for myself

Scrap again, but not reclaimed wood, leftovers from a job. The White Oak for the legs was extra from one of those bullet resistant desks, from a while back. I had to strip the finish and cut off the rounded edges. The plywood strips were left over from the floating shelf mounting cleats from a big project.
I'm not totally sure about the top, it's only 1" thick, maybe needs a drop edge to look thicker? I'm not totally sold on it. If it was legitimate BB, with the very uniform layers, sure. This is an Asian import, not really an intentional copy, but more layers than the usual construction ply.
It has my usual Domino slots for mounting the top, but probably not necessary for the plywood.
It didn't really start with a plan for the top, so it might get changed. Not sure about finishes either, maybe the aging solution, that turns Oak gray.

Very nice work CRG!

But I reckon those legs are just screaming for indents at the bottom ala G&G! ;-)

Funny you should mention that. I seriously considered making similar rectangular pockets at the tops of the legs. I suppose I still could, but it's a bit more involved, now that it's glued up.
I think I would rather do it with some better material. These legs are a lamination of 2 pieces that don't necessarily match so well, color wise. That's why I'm considering staining them.

That Greene & Greene tapered indent might look really cool, on all 4 sides of un-tapered legs.
Maybe I'll test that on a single leg, just to see how it looks?

No opinions on the top?

I love the top, it's leaning to more slightly unusual and looks great. At 1" thick I think it works well without adding edging. The tiniest radius on all edges will finish it off nicely I reckon.

I like the top. Generally, I hide the edges of plywood, but I've always liked it when plywood is the focus, too.  If that makes sense.

You layered that together nicely

This speaker designer/builder in Denmark uses a lot of exposed edge layered BB ply in his builds.  Often combines with hardwood strips - CRG maybe you find inspiration for edging your tabletop on his site.

Always wanted to build one of his designs but my house is only so big (my wallet too...)http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/Diy_Loudspeaker_Projects.htm

Now that's the type of emphasis I like. I like the edges, too: a nice contrast that frames the ply
