Glad you are ok mate

They could have done the surgery at home in your shop! Probably cleaner

As painful as kidney stones are, it is still better to have a kidney stone than back problems.

Kidney stones are usually acute.
Back problems are usually chronic.

Well folks, it was kidney stone. [crying]
And who ever had it, knows what is it looks like and if you did not do not even think about it.

Did you save it? I have used mine to cut leather (just joking. but it was sharp enough to use for that purpose).
Good to hear that you are back in the saddle!
Till now, I did not even know that it is looks like star and just compare it with regular stone, always thought it was round.
Nooooooo it was not.

I agree and just hope that won,t be the next.

In my case the largest kidneystone that showed up on an xray was 20 mm long, 9 to 10 mm wide and around 1 to 1 and a half mm thick, with the shape of an ellipse and extremely sharp edges. I was admitted to an Emergency Ward of the local hospital and the lady who did the xray said that in her opinion giving birth was less painful than passing a kidney stone (for what that is worth…);

After treatment they (the docs) had me pee thru a strainer for a few days -- days passed in the pure bliss of opiates -- and sure enough bits of that one, and others, showed up. I did not keep them.

Not the nicest experience I have ever had. Although hurtling down an iced hill head down while skiing came close.

Kidney pain is let's just say acute.  Seems you have weathered it as well as can be expected.  Wish you didn't have to go thru it.  Hoping that you aren't one of those who will have them continuously.

I am afraid to say I am fine now then I will get hit by tractor. [big grin]
Working on the storage area under the stairs which I had the plan for long time that what would go there. There is nice space there if used correctly. Here is pic when it is empty now.

First back wall would be the storage for all marking, gauges and measuring tools hanging on the slat wall.
I have some scrap that I can use to take care of that. So here we go.

@ HAXIT  Sorry to hear about your setback.  Our daughter suffered with kidney stones for several years.  She finally started squeezing a half lemon into a glass of distilled water every morning and drinking (with no sugar added) She uses lemon juice on her salads and in her tea. Since she started with that regimen, she has not had any more problems with the stones.  They all seem to dissolve.  I have a cousin who had the same problem and used the same method.  No more problems.  I'm no doctor, but it seemed to work with two people in my own family. That's good enuf for me.

Tinker, are you sure you are not a doctor? because I think you are. [big grin]
The doctor at hospital told me the same thing. He said lemon juice in everything as you can and you will be fine. He also said cranberry juice and apple vinegar does the same thing as well.

[member=63059]HAXIT[/member]  Tell me about that digital gauge you have on your A3 31.

What does it do and who makes it?  I have the same machine and might need one, too.  ;D

It is Aigner Distometer and does many things. Here I use it to mill dawn exact at 1mm and I use this to measure and check the thickness of the material or set up the cutting tools height and many things.
I got this from Germany and in U.S Martin would be the one to have it. Here is the link:

Very interesting.  That's a new one to me.  Thanks for the info.

[member=63059]HAXIT[/member]  What is the advantage of doing precise planing when you can achieve precision in the thicknessing part of milling (I think I saw you have the 'digital' wheel installed - which offers .2 mm precision)?

Yes, you can do it in the thicknessing part and I did installed the digital wheel. You can use the aigner when your material is wider and won,t fit in machine if you do not want to take the work piece to the saw for the last cut but my situation here was different.
The width of the scrap I had was very close and I did not want to go under size to won,t have problem with the hanging hardware that they sell it for standard panels. I only used it for one side of the board to joint and maintain the standard size.

The doctor at hospital told me the same thing. He said lemon juice in everything as you can and you will be fine. He also said cranberry juice and apple vinegar does the same thing as well.

I know cranberry juice is good for several urinary problems.  Apple Cider vinegar is good for kidney stones, but for some people there is a reaction.  Since the lemon juice (from fresh lemons) and distilled water seems to cause no reactions, I think one has to be carefull with vinegar, but no worries from lemon juice, I did not get into researching the vinegar method.  I sometime read up on something, and find another source that advises something different. I am somewhat of a nut as I will go with the idea most appealing to my thinking. It's sort of like weather reports.  If you don't like the first forecast you find, keep looking until you find the site with the report your like.  I like lemon juice. ::)

And I have observed within my on family that it does work.
