Hello all
As some of you may have seen i ordered a domino and now a CTM26 extractor.
The Domino still hasn't arrived but the CTM26 just arrived, Problem is one of the handles is broken :( was just sitting in the bottom of the box in a sad state.
As per picture.
Also i was expecting the plug to be a 3 pin UK plug and not a 2 pin euro one! also the power takeoff plug on the front of the extractor is a 2 pin also! What use is that in the UK?
Should it come with 3 pin uk wall plug and uk power take off 3 pin? Did mine just get mixed up?

Yes - something went very wrong…

A quick call to your Festool Dealer should get this sorted.  You should simply get a complete swap-out.

John

depending on where you live, id call yer local dealer and Festool. Thy should sort this out very quickly

Thanks guys
Live in the north west of Scotland, Place called Ullapool, So very out of the way :)
Called FFX and spoke to them, They have arranged pickup and will refund me when they get it.
At first she said "we will send you a euro adapter plug and get festool to send you a new handle" erm... NO!
I didn't get a replacement sent from them as it very well could be another EU plug one. So will just get from elsewhere, any ideas where is good on price? Nearest dealer to me is over 100 miles away.
Imagine having a euro adapter hanging out of the wall and the power take off plug, Now that would suck! They are so flimsy and prone to getting knocked out also.
Thanks

James,

Unless you want to change dealers, FFX should be fine.  Suspect just a one-off.  Get them /new dealer to double check before sending.

John

I suspect that someone grabbed the wrong box at the warehouse. All Festool dealers should provide the same high standard that we expect from a quality brand. I have never bought from FFX but I am sure that they have a reputation to maintain and also do not want to get a clip around the ear from Festool.

With all of these things we should put the onus on the dealer in the first instance to sort this type of problem out.

Peter

Best just to get it swaped out.. bad time of year to buy stuff so much pressure and temp staff throwing goods about..

Thanks guys.
One question about the CTM / CTL models. Since i'm getting it swapped should i just get the CTL26 autoclean model and save myself £150 or so ? From doing searches on these forums the thoughts are that both models have the same level of filtration / suction and the only difference is an audible alarm on the CTM model to meet the "M" classification standards.
Is this correct?

I believe that's the case, yes.

Good Morning

This is an issue we've seen a couple of times, it seems to stem from an internal process at Festool which has only recently come to light. Dealer orders are processed by a third party (freeing up office staff from tasks that can easily be done elsewhere) and so machines that need a plug change like yours are not currently being picked up and so are being shipped to dealers with Euro plugs and sockets. Festool UK are aware and I'm sure a plan is in place to fix this. We always now specify on our orders if a machine needs a plug change and we also check machines when they come in to ensure it has been done although if it comes in from Bury St Edmunds rather than Germany we are pretty sure all is okay. Planex sets and CTM's in 240v are a prime example and we recently had to have these replugged as they arrived with Euro plugs and sockets.

I'm sure the problem will be sorted and it affects very few machines in the range, but if anyone is ordering a Planex or CTM in 240v, it would be a good idea to ask the dealer to open the box and check both plug and socket are correct. After all they need to open the box to retrieve the warranty card to register your tool for Service All-Inclusive anyway.

Hopefully you'll get it all sorted very soon.

Best regards

Warren

I am not 100% sure the filter is the same. what does the m class filter to 0.1 micron ?

The filters are definitely the same, I've just checked. 496170 for the standard filter used in both the CTL and CTM; 496172 for the 'HF' filter used in the CTL and CTM AC extractors.
