WOW

Just did some edge stuff on scrap MDF..I wanted to see the dust...DUST...WHAT DUST   OMG  I hate MDF and the dust but sometimes I gotta use it.  WOW, the dust collection was awesome.  And all this with a little shop vac..Can't wait to get a Festool vac...Hmmm which one  :)
Do you have the plunge saw yet (TS55 or TS75)?  Same great dust collection.  I cut 5 sheets of MDF into finished pieces and wound up with about two tablespoons of dust on the floor.  That saw and vac paid for itself in no time at all.

I do have the TS 55  and 150/3 sander and now 1400 router...Hmmmm whats next  :)

So, Like I said, I had my heart set on a 1010 but after talking to Bob, I think the 1400 is a little more versatile.   Any opinions?  I will be giving Bob a call in a few days to get the guide rail as well as the other goodies I need for boring those wonderful little holes  :)  Any advice on any other goods one might need for this beast?  I have a few porter cable routers several trim routers so the 1010 seemed like a good idea.  Pretty sure the 1400 is here to stay  :)
I feel the 1400 is much better as an alrounder than the 1010. 1/2" collet, ratchet collet etc. also with the tools you have the 2424 rail is the one I would get unless you will mostly do small cabinet work. I also like the Guide rail stop - 492601 and you should take a look at the MFS system

I am late posting here.

You have a wonderful son.  If we can help you make something that will make him even one tenth more proud of you than you are of him, all you got to do is ask.  We are here.

One hint....great song....better tool!!!!

My first 1400 story....I had to edge trim 21 feet of 3/4" plywood with a 1/2" flush trim bit on a  fascia wrap of a steel beam over my head.  While the 1400 was a bit heavy and i got a bit pumped it cruised through the task flawlessly trimming up to 3/8" of ply in one pass.  The dust collection was excellent but I was most amazed when I realized I had left the speed control set at 1.

I do think that the table widener will be on the short list for accessories on this tool as it feels a bit high centered for edge trimming.  My short list is pretty big right now....I hope Santa stocks Festool!

Jr called yesterday and we spoke for some time.  MAN, that was awesome.  He says it's pretty cold out that way, they are hittin golf balls out in the snow  :)

He told me that Callaway Golf sent his unit 20 sets of clubs etc for them to goof off with.  WOW, now that kind of stuff makes me get goose bumps.  Let's me know folks are not forgettin them boys and girls.  And, all the great comments here just make me very happy.  I can't thank you all enough.

Yes, table widener is next or maybe i'll cook something up myself, saw a few post here with some ideas.  I also look forward to dados now  :) hated changing the blade on my Powermatic for dados.....not sure why but I do?

You folks are the best !
