I was laying in bed thinking about strippers. No, get you're minds out of the gutter. SOY GEL.  Professional paint and urethane remover, lead based paints, varnishes and urethane's. 100% biodegradable, non-caustic and nonhazardous, virtually, made with 100% American grown soybeans. Franmar chemical. www.franmar.com. 1-800-538-5069. I have seen this stuff at wood shows for years. I never used it. This old house did an old house lead paint removal and encapsulation show. You may be able to access it online. I remember something about protrusions into the room were stripped to bare wood. Other parts encapsulated to 48" above floor. I would vote sanding is worst option. By the way there was asbestos in spackling compound as a binder until sometime in the early 70's. Multitool, type in FIEN TOOLS. This tool does not have dust pickup when plunge cutting. PS: I found one warning for SOY GEL. ( This product contains a chemical know to the state of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.) You WILL be disappointed trying to sand it off.

Just Google Fein, it will come up. If you want to save some $, there are other companies that make the same type of tool, Bosch for one looks like a pretty decent product. I'd advise if going with Fein to get the most basic model and not buy the kit with sanding pads, etc. IF you are getting a Festool RO 90 since the Delta head on the RO 90 will do a much better job than the Fein for corner sanding.

I have both the Fein Multimaster and the RO 90 and I agree that the RO 90 is much better as a sanding tool.

For me it's the kapex ts55 with 1400 rails x2 800 and 2400 plus t18 or 15  (i have both and cant tell much difference )and the cordless carvex is very handy.
