Oversized or Offset Base for the 1400

I've read a few posts in here that say there is no oversized or offset base plate available for the 1400 router. Is that still currently the case? I see they have a table widener, but it appears to be pretty close to the same size as the stock base. I'm hogging out 3/8 x 3-1/2 x 26 on the backs of heavy glue ups using a template and guide bushings. Once that is done, I use a reverse chamfer bit at the top so that I can hang it with a French cleat. I guess I could make a base, but I just don't feel like it and is seems that somebody would make one. Maybe I could try using my track on top of the template for support.

I use the same. Returned the table widener because the "guide stops" on the rods provide the same functionality with more flexibility (at least for me). I use them all the time. Even added acrylic adhesive tape to the bottom for smoother sliding and to protect the surface. No problem when the surface is unfinished but can be problematic for sensitive, finished surfaces.

Check out this review (part I and II) for a discussion of the "guide stops" to support the router. He also mentions a good use of the table widener but I find it pretty expensive and a pain to set up just for that use. (link is for part II, not sure which part if relevant_.

I'm not sure if it helps in this case, but I use the "guide stop" things for routing on the guiderail as a table-widener/ offset handle when I use the OF1400 for routing edges.
