Hello all,

Don't let my dad close the blinds on your eyes.

You think he is a nice guy?

I work for nothing. My only toys were scraps of wood.

And the only way I got those scraps was by cleaning the shop.

So, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree  ;)

DD,

Ok in the spirit of true representation,

the happy stuff has been retired, temporarily.

Back to the tuff but tired, miserable bastidge I truly am.

your avatar change has restored you to "possibly dangerous, redneck with attitude" status

or  "look at my harley and you die"

my local harley dealer has been going since 1924, i still cant afford one  ???

its got to the stage that bikes (apart from commuter gay boy bikes) are so expensive AND the insurance is totally horrendus that only guys of 45 plus can afford them

a kid of 18 in a (slightly sporty 1300 cc, 1.3 litre ) car can easily expect to pay well in excess of 1000 pounds a year insurance

a kid on a 250cc motorbike, insurance cost is telephone numbers

i used to go "scratching" with my sister and various girlfriends down country lanes.......... just for fun

even 25 years plus ago the insurance on a 250 was around 300 pounds a year

id better explain "scratching" especially to the younger members of the forum (its got nothing to do with records or music)

scratching is a way of riding a bike (motorbike) that isnt for the feint hearted

english country lanes are wide enough for a modern day SUV and nothing else and to say they are like switchbacks (with blind corners is understatement "and mean it" ) legal speed limit of 50mph

drive your bike at 90 plus and "scrape" round corners using all the "road"

scrape as in ground the frame or exhaust pipes (so sparks fly off the metal)

i lost 3 mates doing this

I had a bike for awhile. I started doing stupid stuff with it, and of the cost of insurance was outrageous. It was more than the bike payment. I will attach a pic of one very similar to mine.

Also Per, after seeing that child sized "hook", I am a little nervous about seeing your adult sized "hook", after making comments previously about your dead animal hat thingy. Please forgive me.  ;D

He is picking on my Grandpa here saying he had it tough.

Beat this, he makes me pay for gas in the company truck.

He says this is education.

Is this what he meant by indentured service?

At least I have girl friend and a social life.

Hunter,

Your dad was easy on you.  My younger son was eight.  We were remodeling what is now my computer room when he poked from one wall through the next layer of drywall.  I showed him how to fix it (he broke it) and he did as fine as job as any I've seen.  He wanted to wire the room so I showed him how, he wired it and I checked it out and it was good.  This lad was never afraid to try something and I can recall just one time that he got spanked but now he's too damn big for anyone to spank (except maybe all the gals chasing him but that's his business).    To see what I'm talking about, go tohttp://cgi.ebay.com/Emergi-Lite-Exi...09613QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
If you are a football fan, you saw him but didn't know it.  He was in a commercial with Jerome Bettis, Roethlesberger (sp?) and Hines Ward during the Stupid Bowl that the Steelers last played in.  If he was as good  at woodworking as he is with concrete, he'd give your Dad a run as to quality of the work.

Hunter, if he is making you pay gas for a company vehicle, on company time, that is not teaching you anything except how to be taken advantage of.

If you did that for anyone else but your dad you are a fool. I have a feeling you use the company truck for personal use and dad may be helping you a little more than you let on. If not, stand up for yourself for ****** sake!  ;)

And remember, your dad was young once you did not come of thin air.
