A few people asked about the epoxy mixture i make for my spearguns. I just poured a track the other night. A buddy of mine was over and took some pics of the process. This is using West System Epoxy with microfibers and graphite. I use ratio pumps supplied with the west products and graphite I purchase by the pound from ebay.
I like to use the blue nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight to keep my hands out of the mix. They seem to protect the best for my projects. I also like to have a resporator when working with microfibers. I could not find my eye protection though but highly recomend it.
I used 10 pumps of west epoxy and hardener mixing it until it is uniform in color. I use a large surface area mixing bowl to help extend working time.
Then I add the microfibers until the mix is close to pancake batter and flows good.
I then add the graphite until the color of the epoxy mix is black. I add a bit at a time making sure not to add to much, no more than 10% according to West System
then it is time to pour the mix into the prepared track. I use reynolds wrap to cover the ends of the track. The reynolds wrap does not stick to epoxy and is easy to remove and cleanup.
I let it cure overnight and then its ready for the planer and router.
Someone suggested this as a bearing surface wich should work great with the graphite mix. There are many uses if we put our minds to it...
