Quality cordless hand drill press

Why not just find a used drill press from Craigslist? Even a cost effective one from Harbor Freight will work better than those cheesy jigs. Plus a drill press can accept a vise, and clamps, like the Automaxx clamps.
I’ve got a drill press just want that drill press experience portable

I suppose I could just use my plunge router

My problem with Wabeco is that they don't ship to US (directly from the company). Re-sellers bring the price up considerably.
You’re right, they only ship within the EU. However Amazon.de does resell their products for pretty close to the same price.
No luck. Kein Verkäufer liefert diesen Artikel aktuell in die Vereinigten Staaten!

Found a German online retailer with more "normal" pricing that's set up to ship Wabeco stands to the U.S.:

The most basic version -https://www.toolteam24.com/en-GB/bo...sladung-127mm-hub60-wabeco-4005725224003.html

A version with the rotatable round table:https://www.toolteam24.com/en-GB/bo...75-hub-vertikal-250-wabeco-4005725244049.html

The material vise:https://www.toolteam24.com/en-GB/ma...w-65mm-wabeco-m-drehteller-4005725405402.html

The smallest two-axis table:https://www.toolteam24.com/en-GB/kreuzsupport-z-bohr-fraeswerk-art-nr-832620-4005725244100.html
Can you drill at an angle with these?

There are some countries we do not supply among others AU and USA.
For these countries, we are happy to forward your request to our representative or we will
give you the address of our representation.
Maybe just sent them a mail?

Thanks for the suggestion [member=53905]Gregor[/member] , that's exactly what I did. I thought they may have a US distributor, however they don't. They just channeled my request through an internal group and Wabeco will ship it from Germany directly to me.

Interestingly enough, the normal price for the 2-axis K600 table is €224.00, while the current sale price is €140.00. I was quoted a price of €117.00.  That's pretty close to 50% off the regular price.  [eek]

The only kicker is freight, that costs €80.00.

The price on their website includes 19% VAT.

Yea, sending stuff over the pond by plane is quite expensive...

Two years later... I wanted to order the relatively small version of drill stand that Wabeco offers (B1230).  I asked for pricing and added the work table, steel machine vice, and clamping device.  Probably a total of around 22 lbs.  Pricing for the items is awesome.  Shipping costs aren't.  160 Euros ($180).  Double from two years ago.  It's disappointing and I'll probably pass.  Real fast response from the company though.  Great guys.

You likely have ordered more than [member=44099]Cheese[/member] (btw: happy with your K600?) which will result in a heavier box, Airfreight cost is AFAIK more a function of weight than of volume.

Maybe ask them if they could send the box through a slower (hence: cheaper) method?

I'll ask on a slower, cheaper speed of delivery.  Based on a post from [member=44099]Cheese[/member] I took a look at toolteam24 and they can ship the press (by itself) for 50 Euros via DHL.  I might do that.  Maybe Wabeco should look into DHL.  But then my thinking is they must have already.  What company wouldn't have compared the two biggest worldwide shipping companies and settled on the best pricing?  I think there's a huge market in the US and elsewhere for such a press (all we have now is China $hit) but you can't make it work with a $180 shipping charge.  They need a distributor here.

You can get the UJK drill guide at Axminster for $145 and they ship to the US (available now). Also, Rockler recently came out with a drill guide very similar to the UJK, a little larger capacity. I bought the Rockler while waiting on the UJK and it has great fit and finish, very robust and a good value at $149.

I've had really good luck having DHL ship to the states. The shipping is reasonably priced and it's also fast. A high recommend.  [smile]
