i was wondering if anybody has any ideas or changes to what i am going to do. i want to mount a fence( incra) to my mft top . what i want to make is  a qwas dog that is 50 mm long above the table. i want to cut away this wider section on one side so that there is a flat flush with the dog part. i will drill 2 holes into this flet face to mount the fence to.

i was planning on asking QWAS if he would make a pair or two for me. havent asked him yet as dont want to have to change the plan half way through.

what do ye all think ?

very nice . very dear by the time you get it over here  given that i want 4 dogs.

John was going by John2532 on here and eBay but has changed his eBay name to toolimprovements. He makes a very fine product and I have an agreement with him not copy each others products. So if that is what you want, then John is your man.

Let me throw some other ideas at you.  [smile]

Here is a 50 mm tall fence  on dogs that are about 20 mm tall. Works fine. [smile] I can make those dogs as tall you want.

And what's wrong with round dogs? I've tried them and they work just fine.  [smile]

I've shipped some products over to Europe already and I will guess the cost at $12-14 USD.

hi steve
i would prefer to have the fence attached to a flat surface simply for rigidity and acuracy.
haw much would 1 and 4 of those hexagonal ones cost if they were 50mm or so high above the table.

if its easier one of your normal dogs thats longer would do as i could cut it myself if that is tooo much hasle.

the shipping isnt that bad as i would be buying 4 bench dogs and 2 rail dogs as well

Since you are the first to order these and want to order other products, I would prefer to discuss the price privately.

Thanks for the referrals guys.

Alan, the adjustable diameter dogs have been popular as they compensate for variations in MFT hole sizes, making a snug fit easily attainable.

If I can help you out I am always willing to ship international.

John

He is selling a whole lot of odd-shaped Qwas Dogs on eBay at present; maybe you'll find what you need there. I think the price is far better than normal, too....

I rarely if ever use my MFT's without also using some Qwas Dogs.  I also hate to think about how less useful the MFT tables would be if Steve hadn't come up with the idea & started selling them.  [unsure]

I have a bunch of LV dogs, but I prefer the shape Qwas dogs with the MFT top.  I don't have an MFT table, but did buy a small MFT top from Bob Marino.  With my TS55, the 32" rail, 2 of Steve's rail dogs, and a few Qwas dogs, I have been able to make perfectly square crosscuts without fail.  I use 4 of the Rockler bench dogs to raise the MFT top off of the workbench.

My only regret is not getting the larger top, since I love this setup with the TS55 for everything.
