Revised bookcase build video posted

I found additional content that I had forgotten about, so I added it to the build video.  I think it flows a little better now.  As I stated in my original post, this was a build I did for my mom.  The video was made in hopes of entering it in the next Festool video contest, so it really focuses early on how I use those tools in my shop.  Just thought I would share it with you...

Thank you all for your kind words.  It was certainly a fun project.  Now that it's over, I'm starting my next project... I'm ripping out the existing shop in this house (we bought a new house in the middle of the bookcase build), and rebuilding it to suit my needs.  I will likely put together a video on that as well. 

BTW, does anyone know when the video contest usually takes place?  I couldn't remember.

Quick question, on the base cabinet you mitred the ply, would a but joint have worked just as well with less work. Only say this because you added a panel mould bead which would have covered the laminations.
Still love it either way

Very good catch!  Actually it was done to cover a mistake. Originally I did plan to have mitered corners on the base, and I was simply going to add some bead details inside those mitered areas. But as I was working on it, I realized I had forgotten to take into account the added size of the trim around the top. This was not going to look right, so I added the trim pieces over those sections to build it up to the appropriate depth. When it was all done, I actually preferred the look. I got lucky I guess. Very sorry. YouTube is blocking the video in a couple of countries because of copywrited music.

Just a question how did you get on cutting all the small beads with the chop saw
I dont have a kapex (Ive a large Dewalt 716 i think) i have a fine blade in it but it tends to snatch/rip small pieces

It really wasn't a problem. I'm just using the original blade that came with the Kapex. It leaves a beautiful finish. The only thing I can recommend is to hold your blade down after you finish the cut. I let the blade spin down to a complete stop before allowing it to spring back up. Raising the blade before it stops spinning will cause chip out/tear out. Also, I will often pull the wood back away from the blade as soon as the blade is all the way through. Either way, I am just trying to reduce the time the wood is in contact with the spinning blade.
