Rotex for polishing marble

I need to polish a marble slab at home. Have every festool sander, but no knowledge on how to accomplish this project.  Can someone help me.  Thanks.  SAM

How big is the slab?

What condition is it in?  What sheen are you starting with and trying to achieve afterward ?

It's like 3x5.  Looking for a granite type sheen.  It's a very old piece.

Are you trying to polish the surface or the edge?
You will need diamond polishing pads ranging from 50-3000 grit for a smooth shiny appearance.
The surfaces usually aren't polished post production. Just the edges.

Also, you want lower rpms for polishing.

Best way to polish is wet. I have used my RO150 for a final polish though. I bought this cheap unit for doing round overs and stone polishing, and so far it has been working very well. Made a smock out of a plastic bag and wear a tyvek suit to attempt to stay dry. You are correct Mr Peter, wet polishing is the best method.
