Router guide bushings...

Is there a consensus on what brand of template guides is the best match for the 1400 router?  I just acquired this tool and would like to do some template work but I have no previous experience to fall back on.  Thanks for your help

I don't know if any brand is better than another, I would however stay away from the cheapest ones. Brass is maybe a little better than high speed steel. Buy them is a set. Good luck.

The guides are not really router specific.  The 1400 comes with guide bush adapter for Porter-Cable style guides, so it will take any that are Porter-Cable compatible (there are other size sets as well, but they would require adaptation to the 1400)

I saw a brass set (and individual guides) in the Lee Valley catalog recently -- they would probably be as good quality as one can find.
