Hello--  Anyone know of aftermarket pads and paper for the discontinued RS2 sander?  I have two...and love them.  How to keep them working in the future?  McGyver fixes? Thanks

Both the pads and the paper are regularly available (at least in Europe).

If you do not see them at your retailer, your best bet is to contact your local Festool rep first.
/you did not say which country your are in ../

Note:
If you are looking for some parts you cannot find for RS 2, look for parts for the successor - the RS 200. The mechanical parts are mostly identical between these. The spare parts for the RS 200 will be available at least for next 5 years or so.

I also believe that loop&hook paper is compatible also from other makers like Makita etc.

You did not show your geographical area, but I check in the US and first three dealers I pulled up had the RS2 sandpaper at clearance prices-115mm x 228mm.  Hartville Hardware (Ohio) was cheapest, then Tool Nirvana (Chicago area) had a number of grits discounted, then Beaver Festool in St. Louis.  So (whatever part of the world you are in) check the clearance section of your on-line festool dealers.

I have both the Festool and Makita sanders. I had the Makita first and bought their hole punch whose holes also align with the Festool's. I buy the 4 1/2" Granot paper and make my own sheets.

Thanks to all...from Honolulu.  Will look around for discontinued parts.  Our climate destroys the pads for all sanders...they literally fall apart.  Festool says, " same thing in Florida" and offer no solutions.  So I vacuum seal replacements and try to keep them in the refrigerator.
