Here is a quick vid on setting the depth adjuster  when using bits with out bearings.
The process is KISS easy and very fast.

I don't mess with the scales much.  I find using a set og brass gauge blocks works faster.

1.  lower the router bit to contact work piece and lock it there.
2.  unlock and slide stop-rod up
3.  Insert brass gauge block of your desired depth height between stop rod and turret.
4.  Lock stop rod and remove gauge block.  Done

If you don't have a set of brass gauge blocks you can make your own out of hardwood.  Easy peasey, lemon squeezy.
