To our friends elsewhere in the world, especially Europe,  please trust me that I will try.  I might not be able to overcome licensing agreements and legalese if they exist but I still have hope.

P.S.  Have you ever shipped 15,000 sq ft of carpet 2000 miles overnight?  I have.  Fedex none the less.  Thank goodness I didn't have to pay the bill  [eek]

I said that I would be interested in one such systainer but I hasten to add that if, it just a label slapped onto a sysytainer, I am not interested.  The logo would have to be etched into the plastic, otherwise it would eventually come off as do most of the labels on my systainers.

Also, I assume that this will not be available in all sizes.  My preference would be either a SYS2 or a SYS3.

Ditto here, though IMO SYS1 & expecially SYS2 are the "sweet spot".  Though if allowed, I would certainly get a Sys 3 (maybe more than one!)

I was not offended.  I didn't mean anything other than I anticipated before going into this that there would be the potential for issues for our foreign friends and that I knew additional time and creativity would be required in that part of the endeavor to try to make it a success for all.  I am getting ready for that.

Many hurdles are out there - but your comments were not.

As an update, lest any think that I sleep on the "job"  [big grin] I have been in touch with a plastic fabricator in Los Angeles who looked at the mysystainers website and we discussed possibilities.  None of which they could do.  He then went out of his way to search for another company that might be able to help.  He located one that looks promising - in my city.  That being said, businesses are closed now, I don't know if they do their own work, or are jobbers who contract with others.  Either way it is good.

Worth a trip in the next couple of days to investigate.

I will be able to bring one or all 16 systainers with me and explain conceptually various options posed, and they will tell me pros & cons.  Then I go from there.  I also have an old vendor who did plastic fabrication for a company I worked for years ago who might have some ideas in the Philadelphia area to fall back on.

Just another idea to throw into the hat....

I was thinking last night that this 'special edition' systainer would be really nice. Possibly even too nice to risk getting damaged in the shop or on site. So what about a systainer that could be used in a less 'damage prone' environment?

There are a few old threads with people bemoaning the fact that the promotional insulated systainer/coolbox was only available for a short time years ago - maybe it's time to revive it for the FOG?

I think this is a neat idea but my concerns are:

Price

Shipping Cost

The only way I would even conciser paying a premium price is it if offered a functional difference.  I really don't care for fancy colours or stickers.

If the price was on-par with Lee Valley I would buy one.  If it was lower I would buy several.

If the price was higher I would not buy any.

If the price was higher and offered an insert or something that is NAINA that caught my interest I would order 1 or 2 depending on what it was.

While I don't have any information on pricing, I really doubt there will any discounting and in all probability they will cost more than the standard Systainers. That is, of course, only a guess.

It's not a firm commitment, so don't worry about that yet (but on the other hand, don't ask for 20 systainers if you know you'd never really buy that many!).

I for one REALLY want this to happen, and Peter is putting a lot of his (unpaid) time into this, so PLEASE go to the NEXT STEP thread & send him your details.

Without getting a realistic idea of sizes & quantities we can't get pricing, and the whole thing falls down...  [crying]
