Dean social didnt think dislocating his finger when using a drill was enough damage to himself  he decided to cut himself aswell.

He managed to cut back on him self by doing a 360 with his Stanley knife.  Haaahaa

Think I figured out what happened. As I moved my knife forward to cut again I caught the tip so my knife stopped, my hand carried on,  the knife span round after I cut my finger I think.

Either wt I have a trap door on ,my finger now

On a side note i've been told that hse are on about banning stanley type knives from sites, apparently 2 or 3 sites in london have already done this.
How I don't know.
what will floor layers etc use ???

Oh no! How will they sharpen their pencils? Chisel?

As to Dean's finger flap, trust it is healing well with no complications.

Gave my thumb a prick the other day. Blade not fully retracted.

Just stupid that is.   Why I never work on big sites.  Health and safety does my head in.  Always turn down site work not worth the hassle.

My mate had to have one hour every morning when he turned up on site a lecture on health and safety before he could start work.  Most time it was about angle grinders how to use one.  Also 240v sockets where in the rooms he was working but he still wasnt aloud to plug his charger in them he had to go to container 15mins walk to charge his batteries but most likely get them stolen if he left them in their.

I want to Stanley knife the person who is enforcing bans in use of Stanley knifes.  Low life scum

Seems to me that the UK is going to h3ll in a handbasket with all the feel-good, nonsensical regulations like banning locking blade knives and Stanley cutters.  Pretty soon they'll likely ban butter knives, too.

OOOOOOHHHH...nasty you could always put a blum hinge on the flap so you would have somewhere to hide your wallet [wink]

when I worked at Intel they took our stanley knives off us and grinded all the blade tips off before giving them back!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then made us wear itchy kevlar gloves!!!!!!

They have a zero accident policy there for insurance reasons. Crazy but true.

I know it's difficult to understand these decisions, but are they just banning Stanley knifes or all box cutters like the Olfa knifes too?
Are Stanley knifes causing that much problem?
Tim

Elf and safety has gone mad most of it is just arse covering you have the where there's blame there's a claim culture [mad]
