Surfix using RO90?

Anyone out there using the Surfix process with an RO90?
I love the applicator design but the 90 is my only Festool sander.
So far just using it as a wipe on finish with no abrasion.
I believe you can buy those green and white abrasive pads in the 150 size and trim them down to fit the 90- wondering if this is worthwhile or if 90 size pads are available or on the way...

Also- I've found that if you line the base of the applicator can with a piece of plastic wrap, the sponge stays wet longer. If I remember correctly, this preserved the sponge for a few weeks last I was using it.

When I reviewed the Surfix kit I used my RO90 for all of the abrasive work. It would be nice if Festool did some 90 size vlies but I managed to cut down the ones supplied and it worked well. I have also used Scotch-Brite pads to good effect. I really would like to get an RO150 but I have other priorities on the Festool front and so the RO90 has to do everything - it is a brilliant sander and SO versatile.

I'll try the trim down method then.
I wonder about the process- I have a bit of experience with tung oil, linseed oil, osmo, etc.- does the vlies treatment make a noticeably smoother or more polished final sheen?
(I assume so..)

These finishes are exciting as they are non toxic and so easy to apply, esp. w/ surfix applicator. No gloves, and I just wipe my left hand fingertips off on my pants when needed. (oops maybe my pants will start on fire one of these days..)
Oils take a while to dry, but I usually sand/finish panels for my casework flat, then assemble afterward. So the finishing happens early on in the process. There are ways to manage the drying intervals in the workflow so that the overall time setback is little or nothing. Surfaces are well cured by the time the work goes out the door.
