so... I'm new to festool, and got a bit antsy about pulling the trigger on this sale... Needless to say, I bought the t15 set, the C15 and the TI15 Basic.  Any reason to keep all 3?  I can't see the need to keep both the T15 and the C15.  Looking for opinions if you have one... And I know you do.  If I can't find a reason to keep them all, I'll probably sell the C15 as a basic maybe, and post it in the classifieds, near perfect condition.  The only difference I can see so far between the T15 and the C15 is the obvious body style.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw, I can see the slippery Slope already...
Thanks,
Chris

sell the tI15 and keep the other two. Festool will eventually come out with a real impact driver or perhaps you'll go for a bruiser like makitas, milwaukees, panasonics, bosch's…

I already had a Bosch as my primary, was gonna buy the Bosch impact so I could trade batteries...

Actually I have all three myself. I had the T15+3 and the TI15 to begin with and bought the C15 from Bob on recon. I'm not sure about it. I have the CXS and love it but the C15 grip is screwy for me. I keep hitting the reverse button but there's something about it....I'll keep my TI15 though, it's a great impact or and that is ALL I use it for. As a drill I don't need to use it and it's so big with everything on.

I agree about the grip.  I bought it because it looked like it had a smaller profile than the T15, but it doesn't

The T15 and C15 are identical except for grip.  Pick the one you prefer, and sell the other.  I like the C15 because your hand is directly in line with the chuck.  Don't listen to the nonsense that the TI15 is not a real impact driver.  It works great as an impact driver and is a perfect complement to whichever drill you decide to keep.

As said, T15 and C15 are indentical except for grip. And that's something everybody has to decide for themselves. Only way to decide is to try both.

I have the T15 and an older NiCd C12. The T15 is of course my go to drill, because it is the nicer drill but also because I prefer the T grip over the C grip. The C feels much bulkier in my hand than the T. But what really makes me favour the T is that it is a lot easier to use the T drill when you're working at angles or reaching. The C is only nice when you have it straight in front of you, but sucks when you try it in any other position. That's my opinion anyway. Still like my C12 drill. But only as the 2nd drill. With some tasks I like to have a 2nd drill around so I can have a drill bit in one and a driver in the other.

At first the C grip felt really awkward to me. But you get used to it.

The Ti15, well .... not impressed. If I wanted an impact, I'd go with Panasonic.

I have a T15 and was debating getting a C15 on recon so I tried one at my local dealer... I really wanted to like it but the grip was a bit wonky for me. I could chalk it up to just being more used to the T style but I had to use my middle finger to hit the trigger on the C and it wasn't working for me. I agree with the others though... pick the C or T that feels more comfortable and sell the other.... keep the Ti.

I agree that the middle finger as trigger activator was freaking me out. I'd imagine it would be ok over time though, and having more force inline with the motor/driver would out way it.

i will never buy another T style after the getting used to and falling in love with the many varied positions that the C grip provides.  Also I have terrible elbows from repetitive stress and there's less torque on my elbows, so that's why i love it so much!(less pain is a great thing)

One added benefit of the C body is that the magnetic bit holder section actually holds spare bits securely vs. the T body which seems to drop bits at the slightest bump.

Among others I have C15 and Ti15 ... I lean to the PDC18-4 for bigger stuff.

If you're into heavy construction the Ti15 may not be what you're after, but it fits well with the rest of the Festool drilling and screwing range and does a pretty good job.

I'm also in the market for a Festool cordless drill,  but I haven't really handled either drill.  The thing I read mostly about is the handling of it.  I guess I was taught to always when drilling, is to hold the drill with the chuck inline with the web of your thumb and your index finger so they are pointing towards the chuck and use you middle finger on the trigger and your ring and pinky finger wrapped around the handle. I know the drills that I do have (most of them) are molded for you hand holding it like that.

Just adding my two bitts.....

If it were me, I'd sell either the C15 or the T15, keep the TI15, and buy a CSX.

The TI15 isn't bad for a combination tool and the little CSX is a wonderful drill.

My collection consists of the CSX, C12, TI15, and T18. I use the CSX and the T18 all the time. The TI15 gets used only when I have to drive lag bolts. I have not used the C12 since I bought the T18.

I've been using the discounted TI 15 for a few weeks now..  Its perfect for cabinet box assembly and install. Switching out the various chucks for desired effect is surprisingly efficient when they're at an arms reach. It struggles with hole saws, forstner bits and even drilling pocket holes using the keyless chuck. I'm assuming the T&C 15 also aren't suited for this type of drilling??  Personally i was considering buying a T15 to compliment my TI 15, but after seeing the weak drilling capabilities of these drills i think ill stick with just my TI 15 and keep my old 18v makita for larger diameter drilling. It's a shame because the TI 15 really is a good little impact... its just not the drill i thought it would be.

Don't judge the drilling capability of a Festool drill based on what you experienced with your Ti-15.

Take the largest drill bit you use and a scrap of wood and visit a local Festool dealer and try for yourself.
