Tilting router base

Does anyone know of an aftermarket base for tilting the OF1400 or 1010? I see a lot of other companies offering this and I feel like it would be super handy.

I doubt they exist. OF are both dedicated plunge routers with bases that can not be easily removed. Using tilting base would require swapping bases just like in Porter Cable style router.

Never saw one for a FT router, not sure how it would work given the way the base on the 1400 and 1010 are.

I did make one for my PC690 router about 12 years ago. I will see if I can find any photos of it.

I did see somewhere there is a company that makes a router plate you mount in a router table that lets you tilt the router. This opens up a host of possibilities with different profile bits which is why I made mine.

More profiles from the same bit: angled mortises, odd angle chamfers, etc.. Matthias Wandel has a good video on that, it was some years ago.

The tilting table system from Woodhaven would work.

I have a couple of Makita 18v trim routers and all the bases, one is a tilting base.
They have there uses, doing bevels without a bevel cutter, cutting different profiles with the same cutter, and good with laminates etc.

Hard work with a larger heavier router though.

How would a tilting router base be used?

I used a PC trim router in a tilt base to chamfer the edge of a fir skirt board that had been severely damaged from 60+ years of use & abuse.

Nice to know they are still in business and seem to have made some improvements (if I remember the old version correctly). That would also pop in nicely into a router table.

Thank you guys for the replies. Seems like maybe just need to get another trim router with that option. That angle ease is pretty cool.
