Tools Festool should make

Ok these last few posts are getting pretty cool. I'm interested to see if someone here in the States has more ideas for automatic on/off. I'm installing two new windows so hopefully some more people chime in while I'm on my roof!

Fastcap makes remote vacuum switches for about $30, but how would that work if you leave your vac on auto? A small switch that you could somehow clip to the end of your Plug-It cord so you don't lose it, and snap it on the end for some cleaning without running a tool.

You can use a remote control to turn on a light bulb that is double adapted with your tool to the CT.

Another Festool solution, but probably a lot more expensive, is to fit the power control module 496143 designed to be used with the boom arm to your CT. Then you can run a two core flex to where ever you need to fit a switch to activate your CT.

One thing I've learned in my short time on this forum is that Festool users will pay a premium for convenience. That's why a lot of you have a $650 Sys-Port to store your $85 Systainers right next to your $660 folding tables.

That light bulb idea, while it would work just fine, sounds like more bologna that most of you would put up with. Plus, it isn't very portable, which is Festool's forte.

Yes lot of us are willing to pay for
convenience , protection and speed to get to tools we need
The sysport and systainers are tools to make me and my crew more
efficient
This is a choice we make when we start organizing
That is also the reason for wanting one battery platform
Tools ,
When my crew increased to 5 the amount of tools that had to be organized started to get out of hand
welcome systainers
Efficient and quality encreaces my income
Tanos and festool help me with this

Wish list

Cordless

Sawzall  , grinder , vacum ,  vecturo

In the corded

To be able to get all festool stuff here in the US
and a thickness planer

Now I know I am dreaming

I received an email this morning that included this thing, it is an adapter by DeWalt to adapt their new battery platform to their older tools.  As I was saying earlier I would like to see an adapter that allows co-mingling of brands, Fein battery on a Festool, Festool battery on a Milwaukee, etc. but that doesn't seem likely.  It is also bulkier than I would have expected it would need to be so perhaps there is more going on there than I imagined.

Anyway, nice to see a product that will allow owners of older models to take advantage of the new battery platform.  I have always been a little disheartened by the number of useful tools that are scrapped because the batteries go and it is more economical to buy new tools.  I hope that is something that is changing.

Ay-Men to all of the above.

And throw in a CXS impact too. ;)

I guess adjustments to existing tools is okei to in this tread?:)

They now have that great Syslite Duo. My concern is that it is a bit to much light when painting in a small room. Should not be that hard to add a possibility to adjust? Even if it is just 3 preset "levels".

Yeah, it kind of amazed me that the TSC55 came with 2 battery chargers instead of one double charger.

Shocking! That is way to simple Darren! You must get the Output Diffusor Visor. It conveniently clips on to the Syslite and dims the output by a third whilst retaining the Color Temperature. It costs £75 but it spares you the inconvenience of having to rotate the tripod the wrong way. ;)

yeah you try telling the other half i need to pay an extra £75 to dull it  down when i told her i needed to replace my old one with this one because it was not bright enough ha ha

[big grin]

That's one of the reasons some of my tools share Systainers - there is no telling how many they are just by looking at them. ;)

ha ha never thought of that

I've got another vacuum idea...

What about something thin that plugs in between the battery and tool on, say, a TSC55 that is Bluetooth enabled with a small plug that fits on the vacuum. It would send enough voltage to fire that sucker up when you turned a tool on just like a corded one would. Could be retrofitted with an adapter to current tools, designed into the next generation.

DeWalt and Milwaukee have Bluetooth batteries and tools, so why not?

Battery powered backpack extractor.

That would be cool.  Even cooler if you could switch it from suck to blow for a jetpack!

I was actually thinking leaf blower; a jetpack would probably require licensing to operate it.

I've had a SIP 18v cordless 18g brad nailer for about ten years, and it has just broke!!
It origionally cost me £49.99 fits in a small case (smaller than a sys 1) is relatively light weight and the 18v battery lasted for ages, sadly there seems to be nothing of quality to fill this niche. It fires 15-32mm 18 guage t nails.

Looking at replacements my options seem to be:
1 Compressor and air nailer  (a lot of additional kit to carry)
2 Gas Nailer  (expensive for the amount of work I'd use it for)
3 Makita/Dewalt Cordless nailer (quite bulky and expensive for the amount of work I'd use it for)
4 Corded Maestri pinner (corded so less convienient but looking like my best option)

Unless festool can fill that niche???

Another piece of kit that I have found usefull but seems no longer available is the Dewalt DW711 table top mitre saw.
It was a lightweight mitre saw that could be used locked down with a small table saw on top great for small jobs where it doesn't warant taking a full size table saw.

Both would complement the Festool range.
