Had to trim an 8' tall solid core door so that the new weather strip on the bottom would fit. De-pinned it, plopped it on two saw horses and got to work. Figured this would be a good test of my newly acquired (but used) TS 55 EQ. Wow, 1 3/4" of solid wood and a smooth beautiful cut with a 5 degree cut so water will tend to run out instead of in. My helper (my moms retired boy friend) and I were impressed. The rail didn't budge, the saw just kept cutting and the cut was really really nice.

Now if we had left another 1/8" of an inch on the door it would have been even better, but heck the cut is sure nice.  :o

That is precisely the task that Tom Silva was doing on camera when showing Norm how he uses the Festool  Plunge Saw and guide rail. Norm couldn't believe his eyes that the rail wasn't clamped.

Imagine if you had a CT 22 and you didn't have to clean up when you were done.  ;D

I did it outside, dust was blowing in the wind...  However the CT22 should show up within the week.  ;D
