Hi

Just cut this with my Ts55 two layers of 18mm birch ply it cut nice with no burns

It had plenty of power

I wouldn't expect it to cut much more than that [attachimg=1]

My experiences with the TS 55 REQ GB 110v have been massively varied.
They seem to be unbelievably sensitive to the power supplies, i have had them ripping through 50mm hardwood one day but then on other day it struggles to even cut through 18mm MDF.
I have on one occasion had the saw go to start then just cut out completely causing me to think the saw had died but then its worked fine ever since & this hasn't occurred again.
I have had these pathetic power issues both with & without my CTL Midi in the equation & i even tried to remedy the issue by using the 32Amp socket (with fly lead) on my transformer & this made absolutely no difference, i use 2.5mm 110v leads also so power drop shouldn't be an issue over 1 or 2 leads.
I think the fact is these saws are very underpowered & the electronic speed control just exacerbates the issue.
Other carpenters i work with often have exactly the same issues also so its definitely not an isolated issue.
