If you live in or near the Twin Cities, MN you might want to mark your calendar for an opportunity to talk with Danny Hale – The GREATEST Festool Regional Sales Manager in the USA and the Premier Festool GURU Steven Bace – Festool USA Corporate, Tool and Application Trainer.

Seven Corners Hardware is hosting their 20th Annual Woodworking & Tool Show that will be held at their St. Paul location located at 216 West 7th Street, Saint Paul, MN 55102-2521 this September 2012:

The dates and time for the show are:
2012, Wednesday September 19 8:00am - 7:00pm
2012, Thursday    September 20 8:00am - 7:00pm
2012, Friday         September 21 8:00am - 7:00pm
2012, Saturday     September 22 8:00am - 5:00pm

The show covers 20,000 square feet in their store, warehouse and parking lot tents. They will have over 50 manufacturers on hand demonstrating their products. As always, Seven Corners will have discounted prices and once a year show-only specials!

Well Festool is just one Manufacture that will be there.

Danny Hale – Festool’s Regional Sales Manager will be there 42 hour!
Steve Bace – Festool USA, Corporate, Tool and Application Trainer will be there 15 hours!

I have heard that Festool will be highlighting and demoing the new CMS router table. WoooHooo!
Along with highlighting and demoing the Planex, the 15V impact drill drive, SysLite, SurFix, Routers, TS saws and the Work Center. They will also be able to answer any questions about any other Festool product you own. I’m told the demos will be hands on to the people that come to the show. So “you” get to use the Tool not watch someone else use them and “it works”…you get to “know for yourself if it works”!

So pack up your questions, your wallet ;-) and come on over!

I have to say Seven Corners Hardware is a special place.

If you remember back 35-50 years what Hardware stores used to be like (not a big box with price point stuff) you are in for a treat. Seven Corners (7C) has been in business for 79 years, and it is a trip back to the 1930’s where you get personal service and depth of offered products. What 7C has done so well, is add today’s mix of technology of modern pneumatic framing hammers, along side of buying 16p nails by the lbs. and being able to buy one of dozens of 16 oz hammers, but yet they offer and sell Festool!

As I walked the 7C store last Tuesday, the creaky old oak floors take me back in time to the first hardware store I ever remember. I remember as a four year old, when my father who was a giant to me as was every adult was when you’re four, was holding my hand and walking me into Garrett’s Hardware the local hardware store in Newton, Iowa. The old oak floors back then also creaked under our feet as we walked in. I remember Mr. Garrett of Garrett’s Hardware…treating me like a customer no different than my father, but I do seem to remember I got a piece of hard candy and Dad didn’t.

Seven Corners Hardware, inc. has been in business for 79 years. And I’m betting they will go well beyond 100 years. If you have never visited them before, and like visiting real hardware stores, you need to set aside half a day just to walk the isles and get a basic understanding of what all they carry without the show going on. That said “The Show” is huge so you might need more than one day to explore everything.

Baseline… it is just flat out, worth your time to visit them anytime you get a chance.

Cheers,
Steve

Great info Steve! It will be great to see the CMS in action, and it's always a pleasure to chat with Danny and Steven.

For those who have not been to the 7 Corners show, it's a neat event where you can chat with the reps from all the major tool companies, and there are usually some great deals to be had!

So, Steve, you wanna go out for beers after the show? :)

It will be fun to see this stuff. If I have any money left for beer let's do it.

Cheers,
Steve

I wonder how many FOG members are in this area. I sure will try my best to make it there.

doc4som,

You bring up a good question.  I ask all Fog members in the area to post here. So we can create a list to keep all of us updated when Festool stuff happens.  Maybe more?

Cheers,
Steve

Just got my copy of the Event in the mail yesterday.  24 pages of fun stuff.

Cheers,
Steve

I just might do the 6 hour drive over for this.  My wife would probably like to get out of town to the Twin Cities for a long weekend.  [unsure]

My trip is about three hours and the misses and I have been thinking the same thing.  [big grin]

Tim, I grew up in Newton IA. Where in Iowa are you coming from?

Tim and lumbajac, I'm hoping you two make it there. Let me know when you know your schedule to come to the Show. It would be nice to go over to a local pub (about 75 feet away) and just chat about Festool and Woodworking.

Cheers,
Steve

Steve and Tim,

I'm coming up from Cedar Rapids, Iowa that Friday and Saturday. I'm wondering how many are from the Iowa area. I only know of one of my neighbors from down here going by the name HasselFactor.

It'd be great to meet you guys.

Karl

Steve I am in Indianola, about 10 miles South of Des Moines.

Karl I've read a lot of Laurie (Hasslefactor's) post here and on TF but I've never met her.

I'm gonna try to make it. It has been fun going there in the past. If the weather is nice, me and my dad typically take the goldwings up there so we don't have to fight for parking.

Oh that Rick  [embarassed] I didn't know you were from them there Northern parts. Where about?

I try to limit obvious indications of where I am located. There are too many bad people floating about the internet that would like to know where my shop is located. My only saving grace is that there is an armed Police Officer that lives 200 feet from my shop.  [big grin] He knows that if my truck is not in the driveway and anyone is loading tools out of my shop....SHOOT 'EM! He's a woodworker too. [thumbs up]

"As always, Seven Corners will have discounted prices and once a year show-only specials!"

Any discounted Festools included as part of this statement?  Doubting it, but if yes it would definitely swing me into coming for sure.  Greater than 50% chance I'll me making the trip over as it stands now.

Note: For the sake of perhaps meeting up with anyone - if this trip does become reality I will likely be around Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.

I checked the show specials. Festool prices are normal prices. Unless they are doing some sort of drawing that would be "special". Other companies do seem to have deals.  I know they have a good deal on Milwaukee 12V impact drivers... [embarassed]. I have not checked all the stuff but it does seem like there are some good deals.

Just having access to Danny and Steve are the Value.

Not sure what my Friday will be like yet, thinking of going over for as many demos as I can on Friday, and Saturday.

I'm thinking that any get together might be Fri after the show or Saturday lunch?  Anyone have ideas of what would work best?

Cheers,
Steve

I'm not sure it I can make it Friday during the day as of yet. Possibly Friday evening and Saturday is about 90% sure now.

SteveR, the times I have been at the shows the reps seem to like to have their lunches for themselves so they can rest their vocal cords.Except of course our Festool rep who would go mute from dehydration before stoping to explain Festool. One time he was going so dry that I bought him a (unrequested) soda. It may be better in the evenimg, my $.02.What do you all think?
