I'm trying to figure out the situations where the Routing Slide would be of use to me.  I understand it is to be used in conjunction with the MFS template guides.  I'm just not sure when i would use it.  As always, the Festool website has ZERO information on employment of this accessory.

Best,
Ben

Ben I don't have the routing side but I have an idea what it is used for. It is made to be used with the MFS. You might use it to rout out the area in the center of the MFS profiles. The slide will provide support for the router as you get in the center or field. Could be used to to rout out a recess for a shallow tray for example.

A router in a slide can also be used to face plane lumber once it has been run over a jointer on the opposing side.

The MFS is a super tool that suffers from lack of documentation.  I have used it a couple of times, but hardly qualify as an expert.  There are a few threads on the FOG that are helpful.

What would really be cool is a nice video like the one for the parallel guides.  I'll bet it would spur sales enormously!

"Lack of documentation"? Presumably you haven't seen the MFS product page on the Festool USA website which has a link to Jerry Work's excellent 57 page  Advanced Cutting and Routing Techniques Using the Festool MFS Fence System which is full of excellent coloured photographs.

There is also a link to Brice Burrell's 79 page The Festool MFS Multi-Routing Template System: A User's Guide

Although not linked from the product page, there are also two videos on YouTube:

There is a sales video at:

And there is a video from one of the end-user training sessions at:
