I bought it about a few weeks ago, my first Festool sander and finally used it today.  It was a pleasure to use.  Really liked how it stopped right away!  The dust collection was much better than my old sander.  The only thing that wasn't perfect was that a reusing some plywood that had glue I had to sand off.  It wasn't great at that, but wasn't terrible either.  Overall, very pleased with this purchase.

The new ETS EC sanders are sweet!

I bought the ETS EC125 back in December and I have not used my Rotex 125 since I bought the ETS EC125.

It's a powerful sander.  No vibration.  Very comfortable to use all day.  And yes, the brake is a nice feature.

40 grit paper on it is no joke.  [wink]

Glue will invariably clog sandpaper.  It is always best to scrape as much as possible before sanding.  It is also best to sand at a lower speed to prevent the glue melting.

Pad selection can also make a difference. The hard pad adds some aggressiveness to the 150/3, so much in fact that I tend to avoid it when sanding veneered ply.

Ed,

I was surprised by your comment on the hard pad as I use it exclusively on veneer all the time.  I prefer the hard pad over the super soft pad to avoid inadvertently rounding over the edges and sanding through the veneer on the corners.

I purchased the new 150,5 delivered yesterday first time used today, I went down the road and  gave the Mirka discs a go , well

pleased , certainly makes sanding a lot easier.

Maybe I just get crappy veneered ply that burns through too easily!
