What Festool Did You buy Today?

A used Festool apron , that came in a SYS Mini.
After a wash (had to..) it looks better even, much more rugged canvas/jeans look.
It fits really nice, and the best things: No more bread crumbs on the floor when I take a brake  [wink] And the fact that one can sit down without the lower part with pockets becomes cinched.
And remarkably, it fits a 6 foot flagpole thick apprentice.

I like mine a lot as I'm not a tool belt guy and then if you sit down you have to remove the belt.  [sad]

I wear the Festool apron all the time when I'm in the shop. You really don't even notice it because it's so light yet the fabric is very heavy duty. It holds just enough of those small things you need to carry about.

Agreed, I was not expecting much, so when I saw the local ad I thought what the heck, it has even a SYS Mini which is useful (Trying to keep small FT accessories in them to track what’s where..) This apron took me by surprise, it looked so daunting small and toyish, but I was totally wrong. As you describe Cheese, it makes very little fuss but do carry a lot without being in the way. I do most often use work trousers (almost same as a tool belt) but when I do lighter work in the evening, and don’t want to change an apron is perfect.

I have on order 2 of Katz-Moses new woodworking aprons, really looking forward receiving those as well.

I placed an order for the Edge Sanding Guide AH-ES-ETS/ETSC (my sander is a PRO5).

The main application of the guide will be for sanding engrain edges to much finer grit (e.g. 440X or higher if the surface is 220X) to achieve an even match of stain color. No exposed bevel edges planned for now, but the stain color would match better if the whole piece is sanded instead of handplaned (to remove saw marks on the bevel) and the rest sanded. If you've done edge sanding by hand on a chamfered round table top, you know how time-consuming that job could be.

The edge guide can also be used to perform this function if you don't have one of the Lippers (I have one of them, and it's highly recommended):

Just received and installed the remote module in my CT-36. Too bad I waited so long.
Clock counting down to 9/1 for the Kapex UG set and STM-1800.

Should be ordering the Vac-sys set anytime.  After watching the videos on how to use it and seeing the Festool live on it this past Friday, it was like a light went on in my head.  Should I get both heads?  Or is one enough?  Is one ever enough?

hmmm, i haven't been here for a few years, since i first bought my domino xl.
anyhoo, today my new ts75 arrived... minus the track. the store sent me a picture of a bit of damaged track and offered me 10 squiggleys off, either that or wait for a new bit of track to come in. i opted for the latter. i did offer them 20 for the damaged track as i figured i could probably put it right but they turned me down. so i have my new 75 and track will be here in a couple of weeks. i can probably make it by without it for now, however it will be needed in a couple of weeks as i'm using it to square off some 20 foot lengths of floorboard that have been seasoning for the past 3 years in my house.
that now puts the collection at:

domino xl
carvex 420
the big orbital sander (can't remember what it's called)
ts75
and a converter to use the small domino cutters in the xl.

should be having some fun today playing with the new toy and working out any little quirks it may have.

I traded an old, dirty rotten Protool AGP 125-12 D grinder for an even older, dirtier and rottener lot of old playmobil me and my brother destroyed as kids in the early 80's. A guy drove 50 k's to deliver it to me, and I was very glad to get rid of the moldy plastic that was only fit for the bin anyway.

I'm only a bit miffed that 4 of the 5 clips are missing from the systainer, but I guess you get what you pay for.....

I got just a single head with mine a couple years back.  I got the accessory set to have different shapes and sizes of heads at the same time.  I don’t use it for doors or large panels so one has been great for me.  I use the extra head options in the accessories set all the time for small projects and thinner stock.  Figured I would wait until a big enough project that needed two heads came along to buy the second.  Glad I waited since have not had that need yet.

Ordered the basic Impact. Already got a charger ad a couple of 18v batteries. Talking to Don at Anderson he said my 12v L-ion would work to so thats 4 batteries I can use.

looking forward to getting it and using it. got a shop to set up soon and a lot of outdoor projects to use it and the timber framing installer set I picked up in europe

Vacsys set and the accessory modules.  Should have never watched Sedge do the video a few weeks ago.  But seriously, I can see where this one tool is going to revolutionize how I work in my shop. It will eliminate the need, at least 90% of the time, for a traditional workbench with a vise.  His tip about using templates with weatherstripping is simply genius as I have been using double sided tape and cursing while getting the parts to separate for years.  This alone will make it worth it.

[member=10147]jobsworth[/member]  12v batteries run the 18v impact?

Thats what Don told me as long as they were L ion.

In reality it doesnt matter as I have 2 18v that will do the trick lemme call him and double check.

Don was at lunch .

So I talked to Allan Kensley.

Allan said yes they will work.

A 12v will work on my 18 v impact, but the 18 v battery wont work on my C12. Small volt batteries will work going up like 1v2 -18v tools but not going down 18v-12v.

Fortunately, my poker skills have been shining lately and my local woodworking supply is on my way home from the card room.

Today, I bought the Festool DF 500 Q Set and the ETS EC 125/3 EQ Sander, 5mm tenons and sandpaper. However, I also purchased a TS 55 REQ-F-Plus (Tool+Systainer+55" Guide Rail) two days ago.

Next decent win will have me bringing a CT Midi home.  [big grin]

Nearly every tool in my shop has come from poker winnings.
