What Festool Did You buy Today?

Does the cordless Vecturo accept the same batteries as the cordless sanders (ETSC for example)?
That would seem to make sense from the point of view of compactness and ease of handling in use - but the images I've seen show it with one of the smaller 'regular' style batteries. Or are they, in turn, another battery format of their own?

Here's a few photos of the 2 different form factors for Festool 18 volt batteries. I'm actually surprised that Festool didn't use the ETSC styled battery for the cordless Vecturo because it handles so well in the sander. Both style batteries can be charged in the same charger.

I was aware of the situation with the sanders (and the mains adapter) - I'm on the brink of buying an ETSC, to supplement my Rotex... it will be mostly used hooked up a  Midi, but I have a few tasks looming for which supplying mains power will be very inconvenient (so I'll either be emptying the bag a lot, or possibly trying my fixed-speed Bosch 18v vac which might just have too much 'suck'). For the price difference between ETSC and ETS-ES, the cordless one seems to offer (lack of a hard pad aside) a worthwhile versatility.

I had been curious as to whether I could, later, go for the Vecturo as a Basic bare unit. It seems not... apart from the CSX with its unique battery form (and KAL lights) all of my other Festools are corded ones... The compact batteries (as per the sanders) seemed to me such as obvious thing for the Vecturo, I wondered if I had missed something!

Last week was a visit to a well stacked Danish Festool dealer, and some useful bits and goodies followed me out the door. (It’s not possible to walk out empty handed  [scared])
SYS3 XXL is rather cool, but the largest was out of stock, so this was 2nd price.

Just ordered a TSB/1-MW 1000 to fill an empty corner, as TID set to get some more batteries and a fine tooth blade for the TKS 80.

Well.. ehrrrm [embarassed].. a 22mm hose, a 80x133 sanding pad AND a 1400MM holey rail with bag missed the picture (The rail wouldnt fit after all..)

That are nice systainer contents, I have some of these in a SORT/3 drawer and like to pull them out whenever processing multiple pieces (which I have to clamp on an MFT/3), but I basically never use the MFT systainers that I ended up with.

I finally got some of the FS quick clamps. For use in my track saw and on my Dewalt folding table (I guess not the holes though, just the slots).

My local hardware store had them for $39 (instead of $42). So where else other that FOG can you brag about spending $120 on three clamps to save $9??

Well, there’s probably not many places to brag about 3 small clamps for $120..
I bought 2 screw versions and got one free with a FSK rail; those and the Bessey red handle version is the ones I use. The quick clamps that came with the MFT FX thingy is the last to be pulled out. I’ve had a Bessey quick clamp for years, but it too is last resort.
The screw version is not much cheaper, so I don’t brag about mine too much either, unless a FT lover listens [big grin]. But they do work remarkably well fastening FT stuff and with any holey bench..

It’s my most used clams, and I suppose for many others as well, so there you go!

They’re one of my most used clamps. The small “head”, strength, and throat depth make them the only clamp that will work in many situations.

The screw clamps were cheaper... and almost never used after I bought the quick clamps. They fit in the FS-Sys btw. You can have the normal contents + 2x 160mm quick clamp and 2x 300mm screw clamp + PS guide rail adapter + Toolie in there. At least in the Classic sys version.

Very cool idea to put your vac remote on the apron.  Gonna steal that idea for sure.

Picked up a 32T blade for my HKC 55. The counter guy told me it was "Festool's ripping blade." Okee Duder. The ripping blade is on my list, tho'.

Finally made the plunge and ordered the OF 1010 and LR-32.  As soon as I ordered it, I started coming up with some nice projects to help justify it. Wife would love a complete new closet solution.  I should have went to design school...

I like mine a lot as I'm not a tool belt guy and then if you sit down you have to remove the belt.  [sad]

I wear the Festool apron all the time when I'm in the shop. You really don't even notice it because it's so light yet the fabric is very heavy duty. It holds just enough of those small things you need to carry about.
