I bought a Carvex recently and decided that I'd get more use out of it with circle cutter and base.

Opened the base this evening and it had this in it:

I can see it says CMS on it but that doesn't help me much!

This is used when you have the saw in the CMS, if you are in N America, the CMS unit is not available for the Carvex - use it as a keychain instead!

Oh, I see you are in the UK where more CMS modules are available... anyhow thats what that little plastic part is for-

Oh I see I think.  So it acts like a kills switch.

I think its the opposite of that, it makes it so that you use the on/off switch on the side of the CMS base, instead of turning the saw on and off at it's switch, but whichever--- it's a part that we get here in the USA too, which causes us confusion too!! Have fun with your saw
 
Ah that makes more sense. I've not looked at the CMS in any sort of detail but it having a No Volt switch makes sense.
