Your original Orbis must be from a time when Orbis and Will still were separated companies, and therefore way before Knipex bought "Orbis+Will".

Mafell FM 1000 WS quick change spindle:
Need to make an adapter plate and work up dust collection.
Got it because I've been doing a lot of small projects with multiple tool changes, and some days it felt like I was spending more time wrenching than anything else.
One glitch is the 6mm collet/adapter sleeve, while described as taking 1/4" tooling on the German website:

is of course only for 6mm tooling --- I'm trying to see if Elaire Corp. will make a custom collet, but in the meanwhile have ordered an Amana RB-106 which I hope will serve --- does anyone know of a nicer 8mm (5/16")--1/4" (6.35mm) reducing bushing?
The other thing I was curious about --- the manual uses loop staples, but their spacing doesn't match up with any binders I have handy --- is this a European size? Anyone know of a binder which the manual would fit into using the loop staples? I'm probably going to get two more Mafell tools (drill and jigsaw) and it would be nice to have something to fit them all into.

Purchased from Dieter in Berlin: mostly Keiba-brand pliers and tweezers. And Side Cutting Pliers from Engineer (with screw removal Jaws…). I already owned some Keiba and they work as advertised. Gotta love Japanese tools.

Found a full set of 13 Irwin Mainbor bits on eBay at a good price. It runs from 1/4 to 1 inch in sixteenths.
It came with a copy of the 1926 edition of the Use and Care booklet.
The current version of this set is still available from Irwin today for about $140US, I paid about half that.
Most need sharpening but that's an easy task. but no damage/abuse that I can see and they are all straight.
I have Forstner bits but sometimes these are a better choice. And I already have a good brace which was my great uncles and handed down to me 50 years ago. It came with a few bits which were in sad shape and I have been wanting to find a old set to go with the brace.

The tweezers looks very similar to some fine hobby tools I have, also these from Japan.
They have a very nice feel and accuracy to them.
Those pliers looks interesting, have had a look at them at your Dieter shop Bert [wink].

Got me a square today, some recognises this as a Kapro. Probably is too.
It’s proven square, tested as soon as I could. I was going to order a Kapro online - but IF it was not ok, then this local find was easy, as I could “try try” - in store [wink]
For $13 that’s a whole lot of nice square.

Shinwa dial calliper, made in Schweiz! [smile], two sweet BMImeter; the two meter version is the one to have, bought a 3 for having to those occasions. I’ll most likely buy more of the two meter version as it’s light, slips into the included belt clip easily. One is already dedicated to my apron.
Edit: Poorer eyesight? Don’t want more battery digital callipers? Get a dial calliper! Don’t know why I didn’t before.. [huh]
Second, some accessories for Klemmsia clamps - long reach arms and side clamps, Dubuque clamps - love these, so some smaller ones added. And a first for a Otoro clamp; looks like I’m getting more of these too as they reach in without a handle getting in the way (As Bessey’s gear clamp)

The Otoro clamps take some getting used to, but are really useful, esp. in situations where there is not a lot of space to tighten a regular clamp.
That plastic calliper is my favourite measuring tool!
(I am on a strict schedule of visits to Dieter’s website — not too often b/c I always want something!)

Love the BMI Meter, I'd keep that next to the Kapex for marking off lengths of boards. Hate using a regular tape as when you roll it on its side to get the markings next to the wood, the clip on the end of the tape slips off the edge of the board and now you have to start all over again.

I think the dial calliper will be my most used measuring tool too, there’s really no excuse to not put that one in a pocket on me. I’ll order a steel one soon as I do occasionally scribe with them, and a lock on the calliper is needed. The one I use mostly now has only a push lock, so I need to pay attention not to accidentally move it.. [huh] My digital one I try spare a little.
I’m eyeballing the Starrett dial calliper on Dieter’s, so indeed you are right, there’s so many really nice items there that I’ll need schedule myself too. They have very good descriptions of the tool category and most directly of the tools too. The simpleness of their pages down to the small tabs sticked to the tools with part no’s shows good old school [smile]. Even packaging was better than most.
Just a heads up on the new Klemmsia Adapter clamps.. they are really versatile. I got one set now for use on my (19mm) Sjöbergs Pro portable vice/bench and for a drill press table I’m waiting for. I’m going to show how I’ll be using them soon, as I’m currently modding my Bosch drill press to make it better for woodworking me. With some simple and not costly accessories these are a bit “Swiss Army knife” of clamps.
