The nice thing is that most appear to be bottoming or plug taps which are difficult to find unless you go to a tooling house like MSC or Travers.

Yeah, I can see maybe $40-$50 for the 5mm Festool, but $97?
I recently picked up some 5mm system screws from Blum so I have a feeling there there will be a new self-centering bit in my future. Snappy makes a a 5mm self-centering bit but it's not available in a Centrotec version. I sent an email checking to see if maybe one is coming soon.
