What - non Festool - tool / workshop related gizmo/stuff did you buy today?

After getting some insight and answers to a few questions from @luvmytoolz I purchased a Lamello Zeta P2 and the connector assortment pack. I build lots of cabinets and am remodeling portions of our house. I figured I had more needs for Zeta than I do a Conturo. That said, I hope to justify the Conturo as well based on doing most of the remodeling myself.
Congrats! The accessory pack has a lot in it hey?

The only thing that I thought was disappointing was the plastic Divario marking gauge, but the flexible hex driver for the Clamex is absolutely gold and makes up for it!

Looking forward to hear how you go using it!

I've been interested in exploring Japanese chisels and a hammer for those chisels. I expressed this interest in a thread and had some great information, Thank you. Derek connected me with a supplier in Tokyo: Covington & Sons, and my order of a 300g gennou hammer head and 30mm Hantataki chisel arrived today. Thanks, Derek!

Blum Eco drill that also looks like a shocked robot
I have that. It replaced the Kreg which I did not like.

It is very nice. Grips reliably. Allows you to drill for knock in hinges. I really like the knock in hinges, especially if you work in softer woods like pine. You don’t have to worry about stripping out the screw from the soft wood or melamine clad particle board. If you go that route, the Knock in device from Blum looks unnecessary (and you can get by without it) but it works perfectly and and consistently with a single whack of the hammer.

If you go that route, get some extra screws and plastic dowels. I have not used this company, but their prices look good:

Replaced my Trend Airshield face mask as Trend non longer supports the old one I had, I considered "creative engineering" but I had thrown away the old battery pack before realizing that they were no longer available :cautious:

I bought the new version, I am a world class sweater, can’t wear goggles, they fog immediately, nothing I’ve tried can prevent it.

I bought it about a month ago, not sure where I got it. I know it was expensive even after searching everywhere. I really wanted a 3M air supplied unit but $1500.00 was a bit much. I spray my finishes and would really like that BUT 😳🤪

I sprung for the Trend as I had the older one before I found Festool sanders. My eyes became sensitive from sanding since my first job in 1971. The Trend protected my eyes and lungs for years. The batteries went bad as the only time I used it was using my Makita 12” slider for extended periods.

A couple weeks ago, I ordered a gennou head from a purveyor in Tokyo and while it arrived last week, it took me a little while to study up on how to make the handle for it and I finally got to it today. The geometry that goes into the design of the handle was surprising with many factors being considered that I would never have thought of, including things like hand placement, air resistance, air turbulence, and even pinky placement. There was a lot to consider, as well as drawings to be made, and I admit that I got a little impatient and just started cutting. While the instruction stated that you would probably end up making three handles before arriving at "the right one", my deficiencies were highlighted in the final handle - I foolishly thought that I would make a clean handle to rival the illustrations. Ha, joke's on me.

Leading up to it, I had read a bit on proper preparation of the head - ensuring that the walls inside the eye were straight, parallel and the outer edges clean and sharp. The head that I was able to source was made by a master blacksmith whose ability to craft perfect interior walls and sharp edges solely during the forging of the head was astonishing, as I did not have to do any of the preparation that I had been studying up on.

The handle was made from Koa sourced from a ranch on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
