I bought this a while back to check the alignment of of my MFT and up until last week, never inserted the bench dogs to lock it into place on my MFT.  Guess what, I can't get two Dogs in thru the Square and into the MFT.  Something is mis-aligned.  I have a chamfer tool so I put chamfers on the dog holes but it did not help.  This is an original top/MFT and never had an alignment problem with anything on the top.  Anybody else have issues with it???

I contacted Woodpeckers and they jumped right into to what and how to check.  When that didn't turn out, they send me a receipt for the new square they are sending me and a return label to return the faulty square - Thats good business!

They have a great business model...other companies should be so fortunate.  [sad]

I've NEVER had an issue with Woodpeckers once I contacted them directly...and I probably own close to 100 of their products. That's a lot of opportunities to fail and they've successfully threaded the gauntlet every time.  [smile]

I have had 4 times that there was something wrong with one of their products. One of those was almost certainly not their fault, but due to rough handling during transport. All that was needed was an email and they made sure the problem was corrected. So, their service is not only a US thing. They make good on their promise of quality and service globally. To me that's worth the higher price tag compared to other brands.

I feel like TSO is in that same bracket. I have never had to test it, but I am sure they would act in the same way. I do have a product of theirs that feels a bit off. The TPG tracks I have are a distinctly different colour blue than their usual colour, but it doesn't affect how the product is used, so I never contacted them about it.

Agreed.  TSO and Woodpeckers not only make cool woodworking accessories but their customer service is second to none - a breath of fresh air these days

So I received a new Layout Square with new bench dogs.  I placed it on my MFT and using my old dogs, they pushed effortlessly into my MFT dog holes.  Thank you Woodpeckers for your excellent customer service!

That's surprising, but I'm glad to hear it worked out so well.
I would have been more likely to believe the fault was with the holes in the top, as those are not guaranteed to be perfectly aligned.
They are, after all intended to be used as hold-downs, as much as anything.
It was "us" (the users) that have moved into that, by making cutting stations, using dogs, rather than the way that Festool mounts the rail.

Woodpeckers is pretty relentless about inspecting their products, but I suppose anything could happen.
