Im a little late on this, but are you guys who are clamping the squares, i have the 18 carpenters triangle, finding it increasing your accuracy? The stuff im building, i have just been placing it against the rail, clamping and then doing the same on the other side, spot checking the first side, then cut away. Am i missing something? As to the pencil holes in the 26" Framing Square? I don't think they would work nearly as well in that. Would run into problems when flipping it over etc. Plus the short leg would run real far off the end of a piece when drawing a line through the holes making it awkward to draw to the end of a work piece. The holes work great in the items they are offererd in though. BTW a .9mm lead mechanical pencil fills the hole almost completely keeping the line fom wandering at all as opposed to .7mm or .5mm lead.
The only One Time Tools that you can still order are the Framing Squares.
Personally I have not found the MDF cases to be all that useful. They could be put in drawers to keep the tools from moving around, but take a lot of extra space. They could be wall hung, but I found that hanging the item on a peg board hook gave me a better (less likely to drop it) grip than getting it out of the case, and is quicker. Guess it just depends on how you set things up.

I agree with Seth the MDF cases are a nice idea but way too heavy and take up too much space to be used daily. In a shop I would pad a drawer with foam and fit several rules/squares into the same space that one Square in their 3 lbs of MDF takes up. If I had the wall space Hooks are the way to go.
If they used a plastic instead of MDF it sure would make more sense to me, to save cost shipping these things.
Working on location..... the MDF is a waste too heavy and too big to ever take to the site.

Since it seems that everyone who commented on this thread would recommend the squares, I ordered one of the large squares today.
I've yet to be disappointed with any of their tools and you guys have not given me any bad advice, but I'm still unsure if this thing is worth nearly $200. [wink]

Not knowing manufacturing costs, other than the price of aluminum has gone up, it seems worth it to me since I first got mine and used it since last year. Especially comparing it to prices for items from Festool. The only part that I'm unsure about is the MDF storage case. It does it's job protecting it, not sure whether it's worth the price or if there would be a better alternative for me like a large flat systainer called the FlaxiSys 1. [wink]

The 6061-T6 aluminum they use (we do also) is quite pricey. They no doubt "nest" their squares to minimize the amount of scrap but even so there is a fair amount of scrap ($$$).
I bought the MDF case on the first go round but if I were doing it again I would probably make my own, creating spaces for several other fitted tools.

I picked mine up from the Post Office a couple weeks ago after calling Woodpecker. I remembered that they were supposed to ship out in August. By the first week of September I hadn't gotten it or an email so I called Woodpecker. They said they had shipped it in the middle of August. Went to the Post Office and asked if they had anything for me. After waiting at the counter a bit the woman came out with it. Turns out it had been laying in the back somewhere for a couple weeks.
Very nice square. Only used it a few times so far to verify and square up some cuts on the MFT. Considering the weight you could always use it as a weapon in a pinch.

I received mine a few weeks ago. Overall, it's very nice...got quite a heft to it and well constructed. The only ding I have against it is that the numbers and markings aren't etched or stamped into the aluminum. It's more of a screen or printing so I see over time this may not last and for a tool designed for a lifetime of use that seems less than ideal.
