Workshop sooner?!

Great build JMB! I took the plunge and built a workshop this time last year. Its a very modest timber frame building inside a farmers hanger!
I would love a CNC (I keep looking but the one I want is out of range at the minute) I bought a decent second hand felder panel saw to keep me going.
I just wish I had built a seperate room for a small spray booth!! Would you not consider doing this??

Anyway has the CNC arrived??? what is it???

No CNC not arrived just was told might be coming on the 17th but not totally set just yet.

Shame you don't live in Warwickshire, would go halfs with you!! LOL
Yeah defiantly doing a spray booth BUT am looking at it so that it can be part of the workshop if I want  but then with shutters OR a curtain shut the area off for spraying.  Just because its not a very large workshop  would be nice if it was big enough to have solid separate rooms for everything.

When a dealer tells you second hand might be best way to go after I told him I WANT the 3000 series with this and that as extras and was pretty much ready to buy it from him.  It makes you think ALOT when he says best buy second hand as your first machine less of a risk if it doesn't work out for you.

So he set me up to buy direct from some one.

It's the multicam MG version.

Thing is I recon by the time I got all the machines and stuff I want in my work shop I'll be near the 100k I'm already on 50k!

I think that salesman is someone you will go back to again, and again.  At least, you will trust him for a long time.

Good stuff, I think you made the right move. I was looking into building one and a huge chunk of the costs was the traditional hardware (bearings, runners, leadscrews etc), I was surprised, but guess the tolerances are very tight to avoid any backlash which is why they cost so much. The actual motors, spindles and controllers are relatively cheap, software is a big factor though too. Most the running gear is made from hardened material so will last a long time providing the bearings etc are maintained, seems a lost of the 2nd hand stuff ends up on the market as is becomes inefficient, not from a hardware perspective but old dos/terminal type software. Always seems a bit crazy that people then ditch the machine, when retrofitting new stepper motors and controllers is quite easy

Can't wait to see what you crank out.. if it comes in time you can make some interesting shuttering.. I am expecting a poured concrete roof like this!

Slightly off-topic but its because of the workshop why I have had to resort to this.

I had to buy a new Gazebo for 2 reasons  1 as a temp workshop I can do my jobs for clients and 2 might be using it to store the CNC inside untill the workshop is built as its looking like ill be having the CNC delivered soon bit annoying really.

Not penciled in yet BUT they said looking at Monday but not sure.    I kinda hope not wanna get more set up really feels a bit rush but doesnt mater!

Not got 3phase in yet all be sorted just need them to come and do it!  Just not given me a date yet when.

No not really a Pain I got the 6 x 3 metres  which is big and I put it up my self but it was easy for the first part and easy for the last part but the bit where you gotta lift it up to click was hard! I went all HULK on it and turned Green to get it up but came up with a solution which made it easy with one person  using a ratchet strap job done but  2 people it is dead easy and very quick.

Its very strong I can hang off it.

Normal day will hold its self it weighs a ton lol. Well 80kg.    I have not used any weights just tied the corners down

It's very well made.  Later on might get a small one for quick pop up for one off day's on jobs

This one I have now is good if ur on a job for a week or more I think.
