Workshop sooner?!

how much was this machinery and where did you buy it from. i cant seem to find any prices online

About £21k   I have got a few upgrades and extras  if you go on felders website and sign up you can see all the list prices on their website.

Them prices are just for the basic/standard  setup.   If you go for a standard machine or want to add your own upgrades you will have to wait 14weeks or more unless you pay more to get it sooner.

They do stock some of the machines but they do often have upgrades  on them already so will cost more but should be less than if you added the upgrades your self.     I went down this route got the machines delivered within a week of paying the deposit.

They charge £250 more or less depending on machine for delivery  [eek]  and £250 for commissioning.

If you are able to get over to Milton Keynes they have lots of machines on display. Russell seems to be really switched on and knows the product line inside out. Only two bad points, no facility to 'play' and Felder makes Festool look cheap.

JMB I am really envious you bought my wish list - enjoy it

Any progress on the workshop dude?

Well Yes there has been progress and  i am a happier person now!

Reasons why I am!

The problem with JCB boundary we had for months was eventually sorted and we didn't loose any of our land and JCB didn't have to spend any more money with the solution I came up with which they were happy with.  So both sides happy.

Although farmer refused us access to three phase supply we found another supply.  Which unfortunately was high voltage and required £30k transformer on top of the money we already had to pay.    Luckily for us the farmer was still being arsy to the power supply company and they came back with an offer we couldn't refuse.  We had to pay more for extra cable length of course because it was a further 100meters away but they would supply the transformer for free.  As long as we sign the way-leaver to grant full access to the cable in the future.

Their reason was the farmer could potentially cause problems so our cable would be easier to get access to in the future.

Although we went across next doors land and JCB land which was right next to farmers land to get to the highvoltage supply which both our neighbour and jcb granted full access for us to pass the farmers daughter still had the nerve to storm across shouting to all the workers for every body to stop and how dare they do this and no one goes on our land bla bla bla.    She was fuming.  Couldn't help but laugh at her.

Then...... which I haven't mentioned in this thread we are having a biosmass boiler fitted!
We payed £9k deposit.  We waited and waited and as time went on nothing was happening then we found out the company had liquidated gone bust!!!

So weeks and weeks trying to see what we could do to get our money back.

The owner of the company didn't want to talk etc.  eventually he came round and said stuff happens company has gone but then he said I will still do the job for you.  He said still money in it but I don't have any money to buy the stuff.    Clearly we weren't willing to give more money so came to agreement we bought all the stuff direct and have if delivered direct to us.

Still a big worry incase he some how diverted the deliveries or something.  It all arrived last week.  The next thing which worried us we knew we payed list price and he gets discount. ETA give little bit more discount if you pay early we paid straight away.  So our next thought was he just wanted us to buy the boiler so indirectly we would be paying him the discount because ETA would refund him the discount.    Well long story short they started fitting everything last Wednesday/Thursday  so looks like he's keeping to his word and we haven't lost our deposit.

Here is a picture of boiler

Well looking back it is kinda long still but trust me I have kept it short as possible I could go on a lot more about what's gone on but I'll bore ya.

Yeah heating workshop and parents house.

Its a smart boiler connects to Internet and you can download an app.

The tank is 4000litre just stupidly big!

Not got much to show in terms of work shop just block walls outside still.

Inside all OSB.

With all of those little problems outside, it looks like quite a bit has been done inside since we last had a look.

To be honest their is more progress actually inside.  That picture is little outdated.

All metal trunking is up and all lights sockets and machines are all fully up and running now.

Looks little more industrial like.

Looking good! Are you leaving it as osb? Have you got a spray booth? Also is it single story or have you got rooms upstairs?

Yea leaving osb its all insulated behind.  Metal stud then osb.  I was goin to paint it but kinda like the osb look.

It has upstairs will have couple rooms and a large open area.

Still deciding what we going to do with it all.

I would preferred if it was part of my work shop. Hee hee

I see no windows or signs of ventilation.

No windows no didn't want any just security risk  I loose wall space and spiders love window reveals.

Ventilation is still being decided.  Found out the CNC with vacuum pump pumps out 12kw of heat.  So need to some how divert that heat.  The vacuum bump its self is like a radiator the Vacuum also blows out hot air which quickly heats up the work shop.  Because it well insulated and thick concrete walls it holds the heat.

I don't get to play in my shop most of the time in summers.  Usually from late winter to early fall, i never even get the chance to look in there.  By the time I do get back to work, I need a broom to sweep away the spider webs.  Spiders did not ever bother me, but about two months ago, our daughter's dog got bit by what we think was a spider.  He lost a lot of skin from the leg and only yesterday, she got work from vets they think they will not have to do a skin graft.  It was nip& tuck for possibly losing the leg for awhile.  I'm not so sure about spiders any more.

A few years ago, we got infested with mice in the house (a bumper crop of acorns one season followed by almost none the following season led to over population of animals that eat nuts.  They had to go somewhere.  I found some electronic pest control and ordered three (3 for price of two sale).  I installed one in attic, one on main floor and one in basement.  We no longer have had mice in house.  The bonus has been that we no longer get a lot of ants in house.  Maybe half a dozen during course of summer, but no longer in bunches.  The last couple of seasons I no longer need to fight my way thru spider webs in my shop when i get back to play.  I have even placed the same devices in a couple of my customer's houses where i take care of during winter months while they are away.

I doubt with all of your shop activity that you would need such a device, but they do (actually a surprise for me) actually work.  Even for spiders.

Nice one sounds good. Fwiw bare osb holds dust a bit in my experiance. Might be worth sealing or painting the ceiling at least for more light reflection?

Well my intention was to paint the OSB for light reasons but with the amount of lights I have had installed its plenty bright enough.

Suppose I could just give it all a clear seal.

I think if I paint it all white I might look messy you end up seeing the screws more and joints etc.

I'll take some pictures Tomorrow.  Got the boiler company coming tomorrow so I want to be there.  Could do with out it really need get few site jobs finished and started lol.

Gotta build a bridge/path across a pond at some point.    Also build a slide out bed and oak wardrobe . Make few windows and doors also Some oak beams with oak doors. A oak summer house and a cedar green house x2  and a conservatory/orangery.  A barn conversion.  A utility room kitchen kinda thing.  Gym equipment.  Cedar clad a house and garage door to fit etc.  many other little jobs here and there oak flooring skirting doors etc.

And finish of my bloody workshop build.

Top it of missus parents wants me to build a kitchen and fit and my missus wants me to finish her kitchen off and garden and everything!  Drives me mad!!!
