Each of us has our own experiences with dust extraction hose. Clearly others have experiences different from mine.
I can only offer my experiences. My decision to only use AS hose goes back to my first Festool purchases. At that time I concluded the largest bag I wanted to remove was in the CT22, so over the years I kept buying more of them so that I only needed to inventory 22L bags.
I concluded I did not always know which tasks I would be performing the following day. I have been in the woodworking business for decades prior to the availability of AS hose, which is more necessary with high velocity systems such as the Festool CT as opposed to high volume, low velocity systems such as typical shop vacs. I am not an idiot, I realized buying only AS hose would cost me more money up-front. My expectation, proven by experience, is that because any of my AS hose I use on a given day will perform all tasks, I never need to go searching for an AS hose for a task the non-AS hose does not perform well.
Festool does not supply AS hose with the CMS router table. Those mostly produce chips, which commonly do not need AS hose. But I use other brands of router tables and all of those are connected to my plant Dust Collection system with 100mm hose.
