Bosch 10.8V litheon version of the multimaster.

I've seen these on the web. The 10.8 drills are remarkably not bad for what they are, so I'm mildly curious about these little tools, too.

But figured I'd see what people thought first.

I don't own the Bosch multicutter, but I have read in online forums that it has some battery life issues. Like the battery running down after only a few minutes cutting.
Some places have a return period so you could always buy one and if you didn't like it, return it.

I bought one of these little saws about two months ago.  I already own three other 10.8 tools, one Idrive, and two impactors.  The drills will never take the load of their bigger cousins but for their size and weight I love them for tighter spaces.  As to the saw, yes it has limited operating life under heavy use.  I have used it on three jobs removing drywall where I did not want to use a sawzaw or roto zip do to dust constraints.  On high this tool eats the batteries.  I found that it is not necessary to operate on high for all uses.  If I did have to operate at full power, because of my multiple 10.8 tools I have battery redundency. 

If you don't already own other tools on this platform then my advice would be to not buy this tool as a stand alone piece.  If like this battery platform, as I do, then yes this piece is very usefull.

I just bought the Harbor Freight version for $40 last week.  Used the coupon and got the 2 year replacement warranty for free.  I've used it only twice so far, to cut a hole in paneling for a receptacle and I use the little sander and of course the HF sandpaper is pretty bad but the machine performed well. 

I'll use this one for a while and let the market mature then make a final decision.  Perhaps Festool will enter the arena.

I tried the bosch in a store, I do own some of the 10.8 stuff, I got a ps20 driver for free with a bosch demolition hammer, and bought an I-driver later. I personally hate the ps20, and the I-driver comes in very handy every once in a while. The 10.8 thing that gets the most use is the little led flashlight.

About the oscillating cutter: it worked fairly well, but I didn't like that it transferred way much more vibration to my hand than the fein supercut I already own.
I also read some very bad experiences of people who bought the cordless multimaster some time ago; so if you need to go cordless, the bosch seems the way to go.

This platform uses about any of the competitions cutting attachments, which is great because I have not found any Bosch cutters yet.  Mostly at the big box stores they carry Dremmel.  I hope that bosch starts releasing their own cutters.  The multi tool provided with the kit is two inches wide and the replacement cutters are only 3/4" wide.
