Ok guys, time for your input on a tool review.

This one will be dedicated to the RO 90.

Just ask me what you want to know or see and I will take some pictures and offer my explanation.

I will be getting to the CXS and the T-loc as well.

I did use the RO 90 to strip paint off an old cast iron shaper.

Also used it to clean some cast iron tops.

I have to be selective now, I am running low on paper.  [poke]

Well,  I kind of wanted to make this review special, a little more personal.

I know this sander and some new paper is coming out in a few weeks and I wanted to help answer any last minute questions.

Plus, I wanted to put some time on it before I did a review.  I have had it since before Christmas and it has been used quite a bit.

The first "few" we got were in classic Systainers. Don't let that confuse the fact that they ALL will be shipped in T-Locs to dealers. There are maybe a dozen in class Systainers in the US.

Yes it still runs. [cool]

I use my tools, I may over use them sometimes.  

I think the main reason I kept buying more Festool's is because they always work.  I have yet to be left stranded with a broken one.
There is nothing worse then a tool completely breaking and then not being able to finish the task at hand.

The hose was the big loser.

My camera skills are lacking for sure but, here is a comparison in size and shape between the RO 90, RO 125 and the DX 93.

All 3 sanders are pretty much the same length, the DX 93 is obviously a little different to begin with compared to the RO line of sanders.

I have had that DX 93 for some time and I really love that sander.

My 5 year old said that she would be willing to run the video camera for me while I did some work with the sander.

Her only stipulation is that she wanted to use the sander on video too.  If I can use the RO 90, certainly a 5 year old can. [big grin]

Come on guys, need some questions to answer here.

When you got it I am sure you had some ideas of how you were going to use the sander.

What were those ideas?

Now that you have had the sander, and used it, is there anywhere that you plan to use it that you didn't think of originally.

I do some solid surface countertop, I always have a little sanding to on the undermount sinks to get them perfectly flush,  that is one place I plan on using one (someday) and I alway sand the edge before I route my profile, that is the other place I see it getting big use for me.  I am sure there is plenty of areas I am not thinking of.

Any difference in the use/results between the 90 with Delta pad and the 93?  Same agressiveness, finish, ease of use, etc?  Can the 90 replace the 93?

Here are some questions Darcy.  First, with the small sanding pad and elongated body do you have any trouble keeping the sander flat while sanding?  A related question, do you think there is much of a learning curve with this sander like the other Rotex sanders?  There will be plenty of people trying to decide if they should sell their Deltex and upgrade to the RO90, what are your thoughts, worthwhile or not?

And for us poor starters, not owning any Festool sander yet: What would be the reason I should buy one of those offerings of a 2nd hand Deltex, or why sould I skip these offers and buy a new ROxxx?

Darcy, the RO 90 has a stronger motor than the DX93, so when sanding in Delta mode, can you notice that extra power/aggression the RO90 has or does it feel more or less the same?
