I just spotted this, looks like a super light C12      and not  expensive! See link below.

So is that is about 310.00 US? That I can possibly justify.

My 8 year old Panasonic with original batteries is still working, but of late I have noticed a performance decrease.

It wasn't on the first page, but I found it through the search.

Since this is a completely new, unannounced tool, the info might soon disappear, so I took the liberty of copying the pictures and data from the site:

This looks REALLY cheap (for Festool, at least!).

These suppliers are not known for cheap either!Hope they haven't got the wrong price on it.  [unsure] Maybe have to buy it to find out... [doh]

Just read it through, max drilling in wood/steel is 12mm/8mm and comes in the new T-loc systainer 1. Lithium-ion 10.8v battery.
The other set includes the angle chuck and a second battery. Both come with the std 4mm drill bit and driver bit holder, integral led light and std chuck and centrotec chuck. All in does not look too bad a deal if you need a super lightweight drill /driver.

Rob.

So a baby C12 to compete with everyone else's small tike tools.

Umm dont think I like the look at that little festool CXS. Would like to see one in real life though see how it preforms.  Strange its never been announced.

I could see myself buying one of those! I had two small bosch drivers and really liked them for it's size and build in light. But were to limited to just drive screws. The CXS on the other hand combines the light weight with flexibility (different chucks) and the ability to use it as a drill! after buying my C12, I sold all my other drills....

Is it for real?  I try to look up CXS but nothing.I try Festool France,Germany and i don't see it.
Is this a new product?    Funny on how it is on Ebay but not on Festool website?
Can someone explain? ???

It is weird, but if I was to guess I'd say that its Festools way of debuting the new systainer alongside the Tanos relise of it.  Now tool, new tainer and now all our other tainers start looking a little old.  Thats probably the idea anyway.

Regarding why in one place and not on the official website - my guess would be a premature posting.

The T-loc sustainer appeared on the web and then disappeared.  Premature posting was the cause I have been told.

That's why I copied the pictures onto here, didn't want them disappearing altogether...

I think that I may have sent a message here that I didn't mean to.  Just for clarification:

As a moderator here I am not in the loop, nor have any knowledge of if or when something is coming out or its cost.  If I ever were to be told something, I would not be allowed to discuss it here.  I wouldn't risk that - if you haven't noticed, I rather like this place!

Because of my involvement with the Fogtainers project as a member here, and thru my dealings with Tanos, I was advised about Tanos releasing a new systainer.  The concern was that if the product was released to the US at a certain time it could negatively affect the Fogtainer project.  I was sworn to secrecy.

Later a mention of the new style of systainer from Tanos appeared in a forum.  I made contact and was released from my secrecy by Tanos.  I found out then that the image and description had been put on the web by mistake.  I currently do not have any knowledge about Festool's plans.

In case you are wondering, no one asked me to post this.  I just thought it was fair to the members here.

Peter

There were new systainers? What is so different/great about them and how long ago did this 'leak' (wikileaks anyone :)) occur?

In terms of the CXS I am disappointed that Festool are bringing it out. Don't get me wrong if anyone was to do it well I would want Festool to do it but Festools slogan is "Tools for the toughest demands" somehow I don't see the CXS fitting into that category.
