I need a close quarters drill. Mostly for drilling tops on small tables and hinge components in small cabinets. Will the CXS satisfy this need or should I seek out seek out something else ?

I like mine. I've used it for everything from setting footer forms, to drilling out the lead in a cast iron sewage line, to the small screws on door hinges.

If you buy the CXS set, you get a very much enhanced tool. I have a C12, TI18, and an T18, but I use the CSX every chance I get bit is a fun drill.

I bought the CXS last year and it is the best drill I've ever owned.  Not because it's the most powerful but, in my furniture making it's the most useful drill I have (and I have a lot of drills including the Festool T-18).  I'd recommend buying the set as the best bargain with very useful accessories.  I don't try drilling 3/4" holes in white oak with my CXS (that's why I own the T-18) but the CXS is great for 90% of my every day shop needs.  It seems that I use it almost every day and at 70 years old that little light weight tool is a gem.
