As far as Festool Service goes - My experience is like many others:
“When they’re good - They’re very, very good. When they’re bad, they’ll awful.”
Apparently nothing’s changed in the last 3 years.
See my own experience - Detailed on the FOG (and Amazon) in FEB 2017.
“Festool Quality Assurance: Disappointing > Disgusted > Domino XL DF700EQ”
http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tool-problems/festool-service-disappointed-dissatisfied-disgusted-gt-domino-xl-df700eq/
Finally resolved by Festool Service calibrating/aligning/sending me a NEW Domino 700.
A lack of Standard Operating Procedures - And ongoing inconsistency in their products/service -
Is the mark of extremely poor management in a company.
A longtime Festool owner/user of many (most) Festool products - I’m not selling any.
But... When one fails (out of warranty) - Going forward I now buy Mafell and/or Bosch.
As far as inserting Domino bits - As Cheese says in his REPLY #13:
Put a dab of ”Never-Seez on the bottom of the bit and the mating shoulder of the shaft.”
I keep a tube and a handful of Q-Tips - In snack size Zip-Lock bags -
In both of my 500/700 Domino Systainers.
NEVER USE THE WRENCH to tighten a Domino cutter.
Finger tighten the cutter bits. Using the tool, itself - Adequately tightens the cutter bit as it spins.
Come time to remove - A gentle tug on the wrench - And the cutter bit comes off easily.
