Hi

Recently purchased a second hand DRC 18/4 drill and it came with 2 x chucks. A normal looking one and a monster chuck. Both 13mm and I can't see any advantages to having the monster one. Just interested in knowing why they come with 2.

Picture attached

Thankyou

The monster chuck is not part of the DRC package, but is an impact rated chuck that belongs to Festool's ill-fated Ti-15 impact driver that is now discontinued. The previous owner of your drill must have added it himself to the DRC. As it is meant to be used with an impact driver it is bigger and stronger than a standard chuck.

That would make sense as it also came with a TI-FX which I worked out belongs to the T1-15 aswell.

Thanks so much for your help

It's too bad the TI-15 wasn't included in the deal. I have one and there is no way I'd sell it unless Festool offered an 18v replacement. I have never used it as a pure drill, but it is a darn good impact drill.
