Face frame units

This is unrelated but the top doors look like they are wider than they are tall. If so they will sag like an old girls tits. Best to double the hinges at the top of each door.

Yeah they are but I will spread the hinges apart as far as I can. I hate small doors like that but its what the customer wanted. I think in reality they're about 390 high x 580 wide

If you put a pair at the top close together it stops it happening. I was shown it a while ago and always do it now. Really effective.

I'll see how it goes and I can always add an extra one if they're any problems.

Just having a break and a cup of tea so thought I'd post today's stuff while I'm not busy, then its back to cutting more beech up.

Dominoed all the beech edges using the bench again and the same method I used for the MDF shelves.

Had to get another 8 bessey clamps to speed things up, also realized my domino's were running low so I've had to get an 1800 box of those. Suppose that will last me a while.

The shelf edges are gluing on really well , domino's are perfect so far. I'm managing to get two shelves top and tail in the clamps which is a great time saver.

Today I started the fitting. I decided to take everything to the job flat packed. The units would have been slightly too big for my van. I've not taken too many pictures as I've been busy all weekend, left the workshop at 930 last night.

I've fluted all the stiles and the of1010 worked perfectly, in the end I just used the side fence and the rail guide to steady it.

Sanded all the shelves yesterday , didn't take long at all with the rotex.

Dominoed the carcase sides just using a straight edge and clamps.

Looking good. Where is the hand sanding block for the round pads from?
You don't miss much do you lol. I meant to mention that it's great, really handy for just knocking the edges off the beech.

I got it free [emoji1] , I fitted a wren kitchen a while back and I had to fit acrylic splashbacks. They supplied a fitting kit and it contained various mirka 150 discs, some polish and that hand sander. The kit was for finishing the cut edges. I think the hand sander is made by mirka , Festool do the exact same tool but its black.

Nice one thanks! I have a mirka sander so will grab one of those to use with the abranet.

Day 2 of the fit. Managed to get two of this bigger units made up today while cutting out all the socket holes for the electrician. He has started fitting everything including the led lighting which looks very smart.

Had a little bit of fun this afternoon with the back walls being so far out of level I had to chop off a lot of of plaster to get the unit back in place.

Just one more unit to make up tomorrow then I can start levelling and fixing it all.

No worries, posting updates helps me chill out after a hard day :).

Looking good. Are the backs t&g boards or grooved mdf? Did you just pin the backs  to the mdf sides and shelves?
