After a few weeks of research and drooling I finally bought my first Festool today, an RO 90. As an auto service tech I make my living with tools, and almost all of mine are Snap On (The Festool of wrenches, i.e. the best). After trying out my new toy on an old end table I am refinishing I can only make one comment so far. WOW. As much as I expected and more.

See ya around the FOG.

Brian

Welcome Brian,

I'm sure that you will enjoy your Festool products as much as us tool junkies!

[welcome] to the FOG, Brian,

The RO 90 DX is a marvelous and versatile sander/mini-polisher.

Working sanding wood most of us use a Festool CT-type dust extractor with Festool sanders. It is that combination which is so magical.

The degree of suction needs to be controlled for the best sanding performance. Extracting dust keeps the surface being sanded cool and also prolongs the life of abrasives.

All of us are here to assist you.

Congrats and welcome to the FOG!!  It is an awesome tool and a great first start...I am sure if you are like the rest of us that it will not be your last Festool.

Hey Brian!  [welcome] to the FOG!  As you spend more and more time here I am sure you will have questions.  Please feel free to ask.  Our members are more than willing and able to help.

Welcome Brian, and great choice in sander. I get very agitated when I don't know exactly where my 90 is. I am sure you will feel the same.

Welcome to the forum, Brian.

Fact: the RO 90 was developed specifically for the automotive industry.

However, it's also great at many tasks.

Fact: Granat abrasives were, too.

And are likewise amazing at other tasks, including sanding wood, paint, finishes, etc.

Enjoy your new RO 90.  [thumbs up]

Don't stop at one Domino, I have both and they are complimentary tools that are a must in my furniture shop.
