Got reeding?

amazing as usual. Does the panel above the fridge actually vent?

Ron
Yes, there are gaps in the frame it mounts to. It vents the upper refrigerant system (Sub Zero’s have two complete/independent refrigerant systems) and flips up for access to the water filter.

Looks very nice. Trying to figure out if the reeding is a panel, or pole wrap.

Pole wrap (Available in paint grade or various species. The pictured is a nicer version of what you can cat at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. The big box stores’ versions have either a flatter version of the half-round, or simply slats.)

Wow — super nice‼️

For the tall cabinet between the two vanities, those ❌-feet make me cringe.

How did you keep the ❌-feet from collapsing under the weight of the cabinet❓

What do y’all use for stain and finish?

Thank you for sharing, it’s lovely to gaze at pro results.

The X feet are primarily decorative, the cabinet is “hung” off the wall and supported in the rear. This is the reason they are X’s, X’s and O’s are them in this room. We don’t have a bit for the CNC long enough to do the O so they got 2 X’s (we’re too lazy to do a glue up).

This drove our designer a little crazy for a Christmas present the girls got him wood handled scrapers. I lasered them with the homeowners favorite saying.

The finish is Zar Beach House stain, topcoated with SWP Hydro Plus, 10 sheen.

Looks fantastic Tom, as always. I have a couple of questions. Are the large "panels" in the tall cabinet of the vanity unit, drawers? They seem pretty large, for a bathroom. All of the rest of the drawers seem to have push-to-open drawer guides, why the dangerous looking elephant heads? No doubt it's an adult space, children's heads may never be an issue, but they look snaggy.
The Xs are a cool touch, until that day someone takes out a toe or two.
Again, adults, do whatever, not my foot. I like the look, but that doesn't mean easy to live with (insert ex wife joke)
What kind of hinges are on the glass kitchen doors, where the drawers are behind? I really like the glass panel look, but hinging them out of the way of drawers takes some planning.
Are the lighted toe kicks on an ordinary wall switch? or something fancy? a motion sensor/timer?

Thank you.

Older couple, no children in the home.

The large “panels” are drawer faces, there are 2 “stacked” drawers behind each panel for a total of four drawers in the unit.

The elephant pulls were hand made in Africa, the homeowners picked them up decades ago on a trip to the continent. I never saw it but the heads were inline horizontally on a wall, the tusks held a spear that is now on display in another open cabinet. They wanted them incorporated into the design and the focal point of the wall. Yes, the other drawers are push to open as are all of the glass doors.

To me the X’s are no different than any other squared foot or corner, preferably don’t hit them with your foot. Odds are you’ll only do it once until you forget how much it hurts…….

The glass doors are swung on a pivot hinge. Yes there are four drawers behind the glass doors. We don’t design the doors to clear the drawers we design the drawers to clear the doors. We know the door protrusion into the opening is 1” per side. Basically we build a “box” inside the cabinet to house the drawers. I’ll get some pics of the interior and hinges when I’m there next week.

We did not do the electrical on the project, when I’m there I’ll take a look at the system

UPDATE;

Just received a text from the homeowner, they want to replace the reeded glass doors with clear glass doors.

If you’re wondering, there’s about 10K in reeded glass doors.

What do you do with the “rejects”❓

Does an employee get to make a project for their own abode with those reed glass doors?

Wow! That's an expensive change. I have seen it the opposite way several times though. People think they want glass doors, until they realize the inside has to be perfect at all times. They usually go from clear (or only slightly textured) to something quite a bit more obscured. frosted, reeded, bubbles, fluted, ice crystal, etc.

Where I worked, that sometimes happened. On the big commercial jobs, they frequently don't care about that kind of thing. Most of those are simply because they don't have a way/place to store it. Sometimes, depending on the product itself, they repurpose it into another room or building. We have had items deleted from the scope, after being built, but before delivery/install too. They usually get stored for a while, then they become take it or trash it. I have a few in my house and shop, from just such jobs.
Most often, it's only a few cabinets and the matching countertop. Sometimes it's just the top, where someone decided to upgrade the materials, late in the game.
It always belongs to the client, but they don't always want it. I've seen very expensive items discarded.

I had some reeded glass (recycled). I tried to cut it down for another cabinet. Every single piece got ruined by bad breaks.

I’ve cut thousands of pieces of glass when I had my frame shop. And I used my Fletcher wall mounted glass cutter. What’s the trick to cutting reeded glas?

I don't know, it was always supplied to me.
I always cut the acrylic, but glass is a no.
