I would say its false.  The nail is going in quite a bit with every "tap" of the hammer.  Looks good though.

The ones like the nail gunned Mona Lisa were part of an ad campaign, and USA based, this one is fairly old (appearing in a UK woodworking site at least 18 months to 2 years ago) also it is a German language video. The nail hole was most probably pre-drilled for effect... but what the heck that guy can juggle hammers, (probably a crap carpenter, but a great circus act ;D)
